WeShip
Cheap rates, fast WhatsApp support and painless setup — but every reviewer with three or more years on it filed in the last four months at 5★, 4★, 4★ and 1★, so the honeymoon reviews and the long-haul reviews tell different stories.
Should you install it?
WeShip is a Mexican domestic shipping aggregator that does what it claims: compare paqueterías, top up credit, bulk-print labels, and reach a human on WhatsApp quickly — reviewers consistently confirm all four, and setup takes hours rather than the days of signing a carrier contract directly. The catch is the tenure split. Nearly half the reviews come from stores that had used it for under a month, two of them under five minutes, and those are the uniformly glowing ones; the four reviewers with three or more years all filed in the last four months and three report a real defect — labels unavailable after adding credit with no support reply for four and a half months, tracking numbers failing to post onto Shopify orders at peak season, and support unable to resolve because it sits between you and the carrier. Because you prepay into a balance, an outage is a cash problem as well as a shipping one. Reasonable to install if you ship domestically in Mexico at modest volume and want rate comparison without carrier contracts, but keep a fallback label source for peak season and do not park more credit than you need. Confirm your product category with them before starting onboarding — one merchant completed full KYC only to be told the carriers would not take their goods.
Thin evidence. 39 reviews over 68 months, only 5 in the last year, and 46% from stores with under a month of use including two under five minutes — one of which claims long use while tagged at 3 minutes. The most decision-relevant failures are each n=1. There is enough to describe what the app does and who it suits, but not enough to judge how often it breaks or whether the developer actually fixes things, since no reviewer ever returns to confirm a resolution.
Right for
- Mexican stores shipping domestically that want one portal to compare and book across several paqueterías instead of signing direct carrier contracts (3795, 3363, 5427)
- Merchants who need to print many labels at once in a single format rather than one at a time (5759, 7981, 9705)
- Stores with little e-commerce experience who want hands-on onboarding help over WhatsApp/chat (1162, 6974, 5530)
- Merchants who were mid-negotiation with DHL or want to plug in an existing FedEx account rather than build their own carrier relationships (6974, 6646)
- Low-to-mid volume operations — the only order figure any reviewer gives is 18 orders in a day (6974)
Wrong for
- Stores shipping restricted categories — one merchant completed full verification and was then told by the developer that the paqueterías would not carry knives (8778)
- Merchants who top up in small amounts: a commission was charged on top-ups under 1,000 pesos (3200)
- Anyone who needs the shipping provider to own a carrier problem end-to-end; reviewers describe WeShip as an intermediary that cannot always resolve (3795)
- Stores that cannot tolerate tracking numbers failing to post onto Shopify orders during peak season (0248)
- Merchants outside Mexico — 37 of 39 reviews are Mexican and even the two US-tagged ones are written in Spanish about Mexican paqueterías (4203, 7723)
What will annoy you
Tracking number fails to post onto the Shopify order during peak season (n=1, from a 3-year user): 1 reviews, steady, last seen 2026-05.
How the developer behaves when it breaks
Six replies across 39 reviews. Both 1★ reviews got a reply (8778, 8134) — but the 8134 reply came about four and a half months after the complaint and explains rather than confirms a fix ('te buscamos directamente'), and the 3★ billing complaint about top-up commissions (3200) was never answered at all. The 8778 reply defends the verification process and discloses that the real blocker was a prohibited product category. The remaining four replies are thank-yous on 5★ reviews (6967, 4792, 2551, 5427). No reviewer anywhere in the set returns or edits to confirm an issue was actually resolved, so there is no evidence in these reviews of a fix landing.

Red flags
- Your money sits with WeShip before you ship. Two reviewers four years apart describe a prepaid credit model — one was charged a commission for topping up under 1,000 pesos, the other could not generate a single label after adding credit. The reviews do not state what happens to an unused balance. 3200 8134
- Support tickets were silently dropped. The developer admits in its own reply that a configuration problem in its support chat meant the merchant's request never reached them — while that merchant had already paid in credit and could not ship. 8134
- Reply gap of about four and a half months on the only recent 1★: posted 29 December 2025, answered 12 May 2026. A store that was down during that window had no public signal the developer was engaged. 8134
- Onboarding can complete and still end in refusal. One merchant supplied passport, CSF, biometric scan and merchandise photos over 10 days, only for the developer's reply to state the carriers will not accept their product category. 8778
Trend
Volume has collapsed: 5 reviews in the last 12 months against 39 over 68 months, about 0.4 per month. The mix changed more than the count. Everything before late 2025 is install-week or few-month praise, with two isolated complaints (top-up commission 2022-08, onboarding verification 2024-07). The last four substantive reviews all come from stores three or more years in, and three of the four carry a concrete defect: labels dead after adding credit with no support answer (8134), tracking numbers not reaching Shopify orders at peak (0248), and support unable to resolve as an intermediary (3795). Negative share in the last 12 months is 20% against 5% lifetime. The complaints are now operational and come from people who have actually run volume through the app, which is the more informative signal even though the star average barely moved.
