Shipping app picker

Local delivery and pickup

Bird Pickup Delivery Date

A flexible pickup/local-delivery date picker that small food, floral and multi-location shops get working well — but only after fiddly setup, and mostly because a live-chat team configures it for you.

Should you install it?

Install this if you run a florist, bakery, farm shop or small multi-location retailer and need customers to pick a date and time for pickup, local delivery or shipping — it does more than the built-in Shopify options and it is the only app one reviewer found that adds pickup without also forcing a shipping-date picker (2675). Budget an afternoon and plan to use the live chat: a large number of five-star reviews are really reviews of the support agent who configured the app for the merchant, and several people say plainly it is tricky to set up alone (5028, 7809, 5489). The recurring operational risk, still reported in September 2026, is that a checkout can complete with the wrong fulfilment option or no date attached, which lands as a customer-service job for you (6984, 8873). If your business depends on a hard per-day order cap holding during a launch, test that specifically before you rely on it — the one merchant who did rely on it was refunded rather than fixed (6017). The developer answers negative reviews, refunds readily, and left the single most damaging complaint (checkout blocked by postcode validation, 2381) unanswered.

Fair evidence. 491 reviews but a skewed sample: 46% of reviewers had the app under a month, many wrote within an hour of install, and the prevailing format is praise for a named support agent during onboarding, which points to solicitation in chat. The entire failure picture rests on about ten reviews — six negatives, three 4-star 'but' reviews and a handful of five-star reviews that describe a bug support fixed. That is enough to name the failure modes but not enough to size how often they hit, and almost no reviewer describes high-volume use.

Right for

  • Florists scheduling delivery and pickup days around their own workload (0775, 7311, 4797)
  • Bakeries and prepared-food shops capping orders per day or per slot (8812, 7122, 9983)
  • Shops that want in-store pickup WITHOUT forcing customers to pick a shipping date — reviewers say other apps make this compulsory (2675)
  • Multi-location retail needing per-location pickup and per-location staff email notifications (5246, 3874, 0775)
  • Farm and on-site collection where customers must arrive at the right place at the right time (3035, 7311)
  • Regulated categories needing hand-held setup, e.g. alcohol sales restrictions (0050)
  • Very small or pre-revenue stores who can run on the free tier and upgrade later (5730, 0473, 0704, 8872)
  • Non-technical owners willing to use live chat or a screen-share to be set up (4540, 4661, 4483)

Wrong for

  • Stores whose launches depend on a hard maximum-order cap holding — one merchant reports the cap repeatedly failed and was refunded rather than fixed (6017)
  • Merchants who want to configure it alone from documentation; several say it is tricky and that support did the work (5028, 7809, 5489, 3509)
  • Anyone above 15 orders/month expecting the free plan to carry them (6995)
  • Stores on Shop Pay expecting the app's rules and Shopify Rates to interact obviously (9001)
  • Merchants wanting a visual day-view board of all the day's deliveries and pickups — one reviewer looked for this and did not find it, but only used it six days, so the evidence is thin (6016)

What will annoy you

Setup is fiddly — merchants repeatedly say the app is tricky or confusing to configure and needed support to finish it: 22 reviews, steady, last seen 2026-09.

How the developer behaves when it breaks

Replies to 5 of the 6 negative reviews, signed by the founder, usually within days. Money comes back readily: a full refund within an hour of an unwanted charge (6016) and a full subscription refund four days before replying to a bad review (6017). Product outcomes are less consistent — the install white screen was fixed same-day (1095) and the free-plan limit was made more visible (6995), but the order-limit failure ended in a refund with no confirmed fix (6017), and the merchant who kept getting a different agent each time left for a competitor (0210). The 2★ checkout-blocking postcode bug (2381) got no reply at all. Positive reviews from roughly Feb 2025 to mid-2026 attract long, near-templated thank-you replies; the reply rate on positives overall is low.

Red flags

  • A merchant was charged $10 roughly a month after uninstalling. Last seen March 2024 and refunded within an hour; no similar report since, so treat as historic rather than current. 6016
  • The free plan is capped at 15 orders/month and one merchant says that was not visible where they looked at install. Last seen May 2024; the developer says it is now shown on the listing, in-app and on their pricing page. 6995
  • Fresh install rendered a white screen with no functions (June 2026). The developer says a fix shipped the same day, and there is no repeat report — but it means a brand-new install can land broken. 1095
  • The most commercially damaging complaint in the set — checkout blocked by postcode validation, 'Cost me thousands in lost revenue' — is the one negative review with no developer reply. 2381
  • Factual dispute in public: the developer's reply says they held a 1-on-1 call; the merchant says no call ever happened and the developer's edit then describes only sending a calendar link. Reply text is not a reliable record of what was done. 6017

Trend

Volume is down — 120 reviews in the last 12 months against 175 the year before — while negative share edged up from 1.2% to 1.7%. More telling is the change in kind. The 2024 complaints were commercial: an unexpected $10 charge after uninstall (6016) and an undisclosed 15-order free cap (6995). The 2025-26 complaints are operational: a paid-plan pickup option that rarely worked (0210), a broken fresh install (1095) and a per-day order cap that let a bakery oversell its launches (6017). Praise for chat support is the one constant across all four years and shows no sign of degrading. The most recent five-star reviews from multi-year users (1343, 5691, 2512) still describe issues arising and being fixed quickly, rather than an app that has stopped needing intervention.
