Skydropx: Rates and shipping
Cheap, easy multi-carrier labels for Mexican stores — but the only three reviews written in the last twelve months are all 1★ from long-time users saying support stopped resolving surcharges and claims.
Should you install it?
Skydropx is a Mexican courier aggregator that most reviewers found cheap, easy to install and genuinely time-saving for printing guías and emailing tracking from Shopify — if nothing goes wrong. What goes wrong is consistent: 'overweight' surcharges you did not cause, and carrier claims you are not allowed to file yourself. Through April 2025 reviewers said support fixed those quickly; since September 2025 the only three reviews written are 1★ from two-year customers saying the same problems now get copy-paste replies and no escalation, and the developer replied to none of them. Treat the average rating with suspicion: 17 of the last 24 months' reviews landed in a single 18-day window in April 2025, several of them one line long. If you ship a handful of parcels a month and can absorb the odd surcharge, the prices and courier choice are real; if you ship dozens and need someone to fight FedEx on your behalf, the most recent evidence says this is not that app.
Thin evidence. The app's current state rests on exactly three reviews in twelve months, and the large positive body is clustered into a few short bursts (17 reviews across 18 days in April 2025, five on one day in June 2022, three on one day in July 2022), with at least one review written after 3 minutes of use. That is enough to describe what the app does and where it breaks, but not enough to judge how common the recent failures are across the whole user base.
Right for
- Mexican stores shipping domestically who want several courier options and prepaid label prices without opening their own carrier accounts (1768, 4614, 8112)
- Small operations whose main need is speed: generating guías from Shopify orders and auto-emailing tracking to the customer (1688, 5389, 9790, 0449)
- Stores that want the shopper to pick their own courier at checkout (2506)
- Colombian stores selling cash-on-delivery (contraentrega) who want the wallet topped up from collected shipping fees (0199)
Wrong for
- Stores shipping tens of parcels a month that cannot absorb repeated 'overweight' surcharges — one reviewer with photos, real weight and exact measurements says the FedEx charges kept coming and nobody would escalate them (9187)
- Anyone who needs to file and chase carrier claims themselves; claims must go through Skydropx and reviewers say that handling is poor (9502)
- Stores that need phone or live support — problem-solving has been email/message only, which reviewers say drags out every incident (6869, 3697)
- First-time-customer-facing brands who can't risk pickup and delivery delays with no remedy (3145)
- Oversized shipments — coverage for larger parcels was a stated gap (9094)
What will annoy you
Support stops resolving cases: unanswered mail, copy-paste replies, no follow-through: 7 reviews, rising, last seen 2026-03.
How the developer behaves when it breaks
Two replies across 47 reviews. One was boilerplate thanks on a 5★ (9139, replied within 4 days). The only reply to a negative review came on 1188 — a January 12, 2024 two-star review answered on October 17, 2024, a nine-month gap, asking the merchant to email hola@skydropx.com. The three 1★ reviews from the last twelve months (9502, 9187, 3697) have no reply at all, nor do 3145, 7287, 0498 or 9925. No review reports an issue being fixed as a result of a developer reply.

Red flags
- Money in, less money out: one reviewer put in 500 pesos and was left with about 428 after top-up commission. A separate 5★ reviewer confirms the cheapest top-up route (Mercado Pago) was withdrawn and the remaining options charge more. 9925 3877
- Systematic FedEx overweight surcharges that documentation does not stop; the reviewer says the answer offered was to use another courier rather than escalating to FedEx. Another reviewer says rates were changed unilaterally and overweights invented. 9187 1188
- Support silence on the record: none of the three 1★ reviews from the last twelve months received a developer reply, and merchants of two years' standing describe support disappearing. 9502 9187 3697 7287
- Operational lock-in on claims: the merchant cannot file or manage carrier claims directly, so a slow intermediary is the only route to a refund. 9502
- Silent breakage precedent: in Aug–Sep 2023 two stores reported the app removing itself and showing as incompatible. Not reported since. 6583 8706
Trend
The two records point in opposite directions. Up to April 2025, reviewers consistently praised prices, courier choice and support: 3957 and 1771 describe surcharge disputes being resolved quickly. Since then there have been three reviews in twelve months, all 1★, all from merchants with one to two years on the app, and all about the same thing — nobody resolves the case. 9187 (Jan 2026) documents overweight charges with photos, real weight and exact measurements and gets no action; 3697 (Sep 2025) reports copy-paste answers; 9502 (Mar 2026, Colombia) reports claims handling that 'deja mucho que desear'. The same complaint appeared once before in Dec 2022 and Jan 2023 (3145, 7287 — 'desde noviembre 2022 ya no existe la atención al cliente'), which suggests support quality cycles rather than steadily improves. The 2023 self-uninstall problem has not recurred in roughly twenty reviews since and reads as resolved. Review volume has collapsed from ~17/year to 0.2/month.
