Multi-carrier labels and rates

Shippit | Shipping & Delivery

A tool that Australian merchants genuinely liked through 2022, but it has not received a single positive review or a single developer reply since, and its recent failures are silent breakage and charges after uninstall hitting three-to-five-year customers.

Should you install it?

Do not install this on the strength of its older reviews — they describe a different era of the app. Through 2022 Shippit was a well-liked Australian multi-carrier tool: bulk label printing, rate comparison across Australia Post, TNT, Fastway and Couriers Please, and tracking written back to Shopify, with named support staff who fixed things. Since then there has been no positive review at all, no developer reply since July 2023, and the recent complaints are not onboarding gripes but established three-to-five-year accounts reporting the app silently stopped working and that their card kept being charged after uninstall (6528, 3751, 7840). Two independent billing-after-uninstall reports with no support response is the flag that should stop you. If you do trial it, put it on a payment method you can cut off, and confirm cancellation actually works before you depend on it.

Solid evidence. The direction is unambiguous even though recent volume is thin. Only 5 reviews in the last 12 months, but all 5 are 1-star, and widening to the last three and a half years gives 10 consecutive reviews that are all 1-star with zero developer replies — a consistent run, not a couple of outliers. The failure modes named in that run (no support, silent breakage, billing after uninstall) are independently reported across Australia, Singapore and Malaysia and by both new and multi-year accounts. Confidence is lower on the positive side than the negative: the favourable picture rests on clustered, probably solicited 2018 and 2020 review drives, and the listing's 2.8 rating does not reconcile with the 3.62 computed from the review bodies.

Right for

  • Australian stores as the app existed in 2018-2022: comparing Australia Post, TNT, Fastway and Couriers Please rates on one screen and printing labels in bulk (4794, 4817, 3164)
  • Warehouse pick/pack teams processing high parcel counts — one reviewer booked over 4000 parcels a month for two years (3076, 5086, 4733)
  • Merchants who want tracking numbers written back to Shopify automatically instead of pasting them by hand (7907, 2412, 5233)
  • Multi-location retailers doing store-to-store transfers and ship-from-store, per one Sydney/Melbourne/Brisbane apparel chain (4733, 5214)

Wrong for

  • Anyone who will need support: unanswered or slow support is the most-repeated complaint across all eight years, and every single review since Nov 2024 reports it (6528, 9837, 8387, 7840)
  • Stores relying on Australia Post On Demand, eParcel On Demand or eParcel — reviewers report these are not properly integrated and need manual address entry (0264, 9837, 3583)
  • Anyone shipping dangerous goods — one reviewer says the integration does not allow DG items (9665)
  • Merchants who need lost-parcel or weight-overcharge disputes actually settled; reviewers describe paying insurance and then being unable to claim (1058, 4489, 0652)
  • Multi-store operators — each Shopify store needs its own Shippit account and separate login (3380)
  • Small/low-volume stores by 2023-2025 pricing, where reviewers said the cost stopped being justifiable (4696, 7840)

What will annoy you

Support does not reply, or replies without resolving; no phone number and tickets closed unilaterally: 26 reviews, rising, last seen 2026-08.

How the developer behaves when it breaks

Historically frequent but formulaic: most negative replies redirect to hello@shippit.com or support@shippit.com and ask for a Merchant ID rather than addressing the specific issue (2318, 7681, 1507, 0264). Many arrived months late in batches — a run of 2020 complaints was answered on 6 May 2021 (6463, 3380, 8230, 6427), and a run of 2022 complaints on 3 November 2022 (2318, 7681, 4489). One reply openly disputed the reviewer's account of events (7494). No review in this set was edited upward after a reply, and one reviewer says issues were closed without confirming resolution (1507). The last reply of any kind is dated 10 July 2023 (3207, 7483); the ten reviews since then, all 1-star, have no reply at all.

What it does well 4 themes

  • Bulk label printing and faster pick/pack/dispatch — every report dates 2018 to Oct 2022, none since 28 reviews
“Being able to track, notify and bulk import orders has allowed us to keep up with increased demand” review 7985
  • Rate comparison across couriers and real freight savings — every report dates 2018 to Nov 2022, none since 18 reviews

Red flags

  • Card continues to be charged after the app is uninstalled, with the in-portal cancel button reported as non-functional and support not responding — two independent reports, 2025 and 2026 3751 7840
  • Developer has not replied to any review since 10 July 2023. Ten consecutive reviews since then, all 1-star, have gone unanswered 4455 8387 1028 7840 6528
  • Listing says 'Free plan available' but a reviewer reports discovering only a 30-day trial after installing and handing over store and personal details 1028
  • Insurance is charged on shipments but claims are reported as effectively unrecoverable, including an insurance top-up never returned 1058 4489
  • Promised compensation and a promised membership refund not paid after four weeks, and a reviewer reports an employee asked to fight him in person 4455
  • Long-tenured accounts breaking without warning — one at about five years, one at over a year — suggesting maintenance has lapsed rather than onboarding being hard 6528 4172
  • The one developer reply attached to a 2023 complaint is dated January 2023, predates the September 2023 edit, and addresses integration rather than the insurance complaint raised 1058

Trend

The split is stark and it is the main finding. The last positive review of any kind is dated November 2022. Every review since March 2023 is 1-star except one 4-star edit (4696) that downgrades the app and says the reviewer stopped using it. Volume has collapsed to roughly one review every two and a half months (5 in the last 12 months, all 1-star). More important than the volume is what changed in the content. The 2018-2022 negatives were mostly new users hitting onboarding friction and slow chat support (3415, 9363, 3380, 3583). The 2024-2026 negatives are established customers reporting that something which used to work stopped: 6528 at about five years, 7840 at almost four years (charged after uninstall), 3751 at over three years (card still charged), 4172 at over a year (new orders tab). Failures have moved from the onboarding stage to the installed base, and developer replies stopped entirely in July 2023.
