Multi-carrier labels and rates
Shipduo Freight LTL Shipping
If you ship pallets and bulky goods domestically in the US and want freight booking to feel like parcel booking, reviewers say this does it and the team answers the phone — but 34 reviews with one negative and six posted on a single day is too thin a base to trust on failure modes.
Should you install it?
Reviewers consistently describe this as a tool that turns LTL and pallet booking into something as quick as parcel booking inside Shopify, with multi-carrier rate comparison, small-parcel labels alongside freight, and rates several US merchants say beat their previous freight provider. The most repeated and most credible theme is the support team: long-tenure stores ([8468] ~1 year, [3431] 10 months, [3111] 3 months) describe same-day fixes and custom rule-building, not just polite replies. The evidence base is thin and partly prompted — 34 reviews, exactly one negative, no 4-star reviews at all, 41% from stores under a month, and six reviews posted on one day three days before this digest — so treat the positive picture as directional rather than proven. The one failure on record is real and the kind that costs money: a multi-piece parcel shipment that produced a single '1 of 1' label with no obvious void option, plus live-chat messages that went unanswered ([0402]); the developer replied same-day naming a cause and a fix, but no later reviewer confirms it. Two specific gaps a freight shipper should close before installing: no reviewer names a single LTL carrier, and nothing in the corpus evidences use outside US domestic shipping — ask the vendor directly for the carrier list and for international coverage.
Thin evidence. 34 reviews total with a single negative and zero 4-star reviews, so the qualified-criticism bucket that usually reveals failure modes is empty. 41% of reviewers had under a month of use, one reviewed after about 1 hour ([4113]), and six reviews landed on the same day (2026-09-09) followed by a batched developer reply sweep the next day — a review-drive signature. Strengths are supported well enough to act on; failure modes, reliability at volume, carrier coverage and international fit are not judgeable from this base.
Right for
- US merchants shipping pallets, LTL and bulky/heavy goods domestically ([3504] pallet shipments, [2261] 'manufacturer of bulky, heavy products')
- Stores that currently book freight manually or through a forwarder and want quoting/booking inside Shopify ([3524], [6444])
- Merchants who want LTL and small parcel handled in one tool rather than two ([4301], [3111], [9664])
- Small teams that need hands-on onboarding and are willing to ask support for custom rules ([4118], [3111] 'more complex shipping rules', [9214] custom dev work)
- Stores replacing an existing freight provider on price — several reviewers report cheaper LTL rates than their previous account ([0051], [4365], [5024])
Wrong for
- Merchants needing cross-border or non-US freight — the only international reviewers (Israel) are shipping US domestic ([4215] 'We look to start ship on the US', [4365] 'domestic shipping'); no review evidences international freight
- Anyone who needs to verify which LTL carriers they'd get before installing — not one reviewer names a freight carrier
- High-volume parcel-only shippers: parcel is described as a useful add-on ([0051] bulk feature, [3024]), and the one parcel failure in the corpus was a multi-piece label bug ([0402])
- Stores needing reliable outside-US-hours support — after-hours coverage is contested ([0402] ignored on live chat vs [3431] 'even after hours!')
- Buyers who want a long, varied track record before committing — 34 reviews over 21 months, 41% from stores using it under a month
What will annoy you
Multi-piece parcel shipment generated a single '1 of 1' label, with no obvious way to void it — one incident, developer says the cause was a specific UPS service now disabled: 1 reviews, fading, last seen 2026-07.
How the developer behaves when it breaks
7 replies across 34 reviews (21%). Replies to positive reviews are templated and were batched: four of them, plus replies to July reviews [0580] and [6349], were all posted on 2026-09-10. The single negative review [0402] got a same-day, specific reply that named a root cause (a UPS Ground Saver service via a third-party label provider), said that service had been turned off, acknowledged the after-hours auto-response had failed, pointed to an existing Cancel Shipment option, and stated the shipment was voided and refunded. That is a substantive response — but it is the only negative in the corpus, so 'usually' rests on n=1 and the fix is confirmed only by the developer, not by any later reviewer.

Red flags
- Silent breakage: a label was produced that looked valid but was wrong for the shipment (8 boxes, one '1 of 1' label), which the merchant only caught themselves. Developer attributes it to a UPS Ground Saver service via a third-party label provider and says that service was turned off; no reviewer has confirmed the fix independently. 0402
- One support-silence episode: messages read on live chat and not answered, on a business-critical label problem. Developer says an after-hours auto-response failed to trigger. 0402
- No reviewer names a single LTL freight carrier. The only carrier named anywhere in the corpus (UPS Ground Saver) appears in a developer reply, not a review. You cannot verify the carrier mix from these reviews. 0402 4003
Trend
26 of 34 reviews arrived in the last 12 months versus 8 before (about 2.2/month), so most of the record is recent. The themes shifted: Dec 2024–mid 2025 reviews emphasise cheaper rates and fast multi-carrier comparison ([0051], [4215], [4003]); 2026 reviews add LTL-plus-parcel in one tool ([3111], [4301]), custom development for edge cases ([4118], [9214]), and two features each resting on a single short-tenure review — a branded tracking page and customer portal ([0580], 2 days using) and freight charges displayed at checkout ([3024]). The only negative is also recent (2026-07), so the record is not 'problems early, clean since'; it is 'one problem, recent, answered in detail, not since repeated in any review'. The app was branded Shipifi/Shipify before Shipduo, which is why pre-2026 reviews use the old name.
