Multi-carrier labels and rates

Shipandco

If you ship out of Japan and are still copy-pasting addresses into Yamato B2 or the Japan Post site, this replaces that job well — but the day-to-day UI is clunky and has stayed clunky for years.

Should you install it?

For a Japan-based store still hand-entering addresses into Yamato B2, the Japan Post site or FedEx's portal, this does the job it advertises, and merchants stay on it for five and seven years. The strongest and most consistent signal across eight years is support: fast, bilingual, and willing to reverse a change when a customer objects. The weakness is the interface itself — no default shipping method, no bulk selection, weak search, and a first week reviewers describe as confusing — and those complaints appear in 2024, 2025 and 2026 without visible improvement, including from long-tenure users who still gave five stars. One long-term merchant's reproducible bug on large international invoices was told it was not happening on the developer's side and remained unfixed as of October 2025; that is the one behaviour worth weighing against the otherwise good support record. Install it if your bottleneck is carrier data entry and customs paperwork; do not expect a refined daily-use UI, phone support, or Yamato international labels yet.

Fair evidence. 157 reviews with a genuine bench of 3-7 year users is real evidence, and the 4.9 average is not manufactured. But only 108 reviews have text, roughly eight negatives across eight years carry actual detail, and the last 12 months are almost entirely rating-only, so there is little recent material to test the older praise against. The headline 0% negative share for the last 12 months is misleading: current complaints arrive as 3-star (7728, 6312) and even 5-star reviews (3527), not 1-2 star. Add that 31% of reviewers had under a month of use — several under an hour — and the recent score reflects onboarding, not operations.

Right for

  • Japan-based stores shipping domestically on Japan Post/Yu-Pack, Yamato or Sagawa accounts, replacing manual entry in carrier web systems (1360, 7938, 0391, 0643)
  • Cross-border sellers shipping out of Japan who need commercial invoices, HS codes and customs paperwork generated automatically (4106, 7960, 1647, 5085)
  • Stores mixing domestic and international shipping who want one screen for both (5065, 8847, 5219)
  • Sellers on multiple channels — Shopify plus Amazon and Yahoo!ショッピング — who want one label queue (5606, 2103, 6013)
  • Non-Japan stores that just want a better UPS/FedEx/DHL label flow than the carrier's own site (7182, 5081, 3417, 6943)
  • Small or seasonal shippers: several reviewers value per-label pricing with no upfront cost (5514, 1472)

Wrong for

  • Anyone who needs a polished, keyboard-efficient label UI — no default shipping method, no shift-select, weak search (5791, 3622, 3527)
  • Stores building very large multi-item international invoices; one long-term user reports the product-category field re-shuffling and has had it dismissed for years (7728)
  • Buyers who want phone or live-chat support — support is email/contact-form only, by the developer's own statement (6450)
  • Stores that need Yamato international labels today, or GLS Ireland, or SDS document upload (0760, 4326, 8199)
  • Price-sensitive stores that only ship domestically: no cheaper domestic-only tier, and plan choice confuses people (7720, 0608, 4004)
  • Anyone expecting help with storefront setup or traffic — that is out of scope (0840)

What will annoy you

Feature and carrier gaps reviewers keep asking for: Yamato international, Yu-Pack date/time at checkout, GLS Ireland, SDS upload, two-labels-per-A4-sheet, handling-instruction options: 8 reviews, steady, last seen 2026-06.

How the developer behaves when it breaks

Replies to 43% of reviews overall and to every complaint. The replies are substantive, not boilerplate: on 6450 they quoted the actual email timestamps and explained why phone support was dropped; on 5791 they said the support team had already contacted the merchant separately; on 1589 they suggested a browser workaround and later confirmed the fix; on 1205 and 0506 they linked the support article for a feature the reviewer thought was missing. Fixes are documented but slow: multi-location auto-fulfilment took roughly 15 months (7027, reply June 2020), the HS-code restriction was reverted after complaint (7728), UPS laser printing was working by 2024 (1589). Against that, 7728's performance bug has survived several reports and an outright denial. Note that reply dates cannot be used to measure latency here — on edited reviews such as 1589 and 7050 the reply predates the displayed date.

Red flags

  • A reproducible bug was dismissed rather than investigated: the reviewer was told it was not happening on the developer's side, and it remained unfixed across multiple reports and multiple machines. Still open as of their October 2025 update. 7728
  • Historic (resolved 2020-06): a core Shopify feature was broken by the app for over a year while the merchant continued to be billed at full — and then raised — rates. 7027

Trend

Volume is up and information is down. The last 12 months (from 2025-09-12) carry about 50 reviews against 22 the year before, but nearly all are rating-only or one-word ('good', 'さいこ', 'いいです!'). Every detailed, checkable account — named carriers, named support staff (Thomas, Min, 梶本), described workflows, before/after timings — is from 2018-2024 and has no recent equivalent. The informative recent items are: an unresolved invoice-screen performance complaint from a 5-year user (7728, 2025-10), a 14-day user who cannot work out the interface (6312, 2026-09), a 2-year user who gave 5 stars and wrote only that usability is poor in many places (3527, 2026-08), a Yu-Pack checkout feature request (1205, 2026-06), and a 5-year user saying early bugs were all fixed (8604, 2026-04). The 2019-2021 era problems — multi-location auto-fulfilment, UPS laser printing — are documented as closed. What has not changed in two years is the UI friction.
