Return Prime:Return & Exchange
Cheap returns and exchanges portal where the team sets it up for you, and it works well for Indian D2C and small stores. But since late 2025 a small, growing share of reviews describe support going silent, return labels failing, automation changing things on its own, and charges continuing after uninstall.
Should you install it?
Return Prime is a low-cost returns and exchanges portal whose main strength is staff who set it up for you. It suits Indian D2C brands (courier reverse pickup, COD refunds) and small stores that want exchanges for other products, store credit and return fees without paying Loop or AfterShip prices. The glowing average is inflated by reviews written minutes or days after an onboarding chat, so treat it as a measure of the setup experience. Since late 2025, long-time and new users alike report support going silent or missing calls, return labels erroring for days, settings and automations changing without notice, and in one case billing after uninstall. If you install it, test label generation with your carrier, especially USPS or multi-item returns, and try automations on a few orders before switching them on. Also check your Shopify billing after cancelling.
Fair evidence. There are 700 text reviews and the recent complaints are specific and consistent. But nearly half of all reviews come from under a month of use and many look solicited, so the positive picture is less reliable than its volume suggests. The serious failures rest on a small number of detailed reports.
Right for
- Indian D2C brands that need reverse pickup through Indian couriers and refunds on COD orders (4123, 7140, 9427, 8946)
- Small or pre-launch stores that want a free starter plan and staff who configure the portal for them (1396, 5024, 8249, 9517)
- Fashion and apparel stores that want exchanges for other products, store credit, return fees and incentives to keep the sale (6104, 2949, 5194, 8744)
- Merchants leaving Loop, AfterShip or Redo mainly on price (2942, 7871, 6885, 6104)
- German stores returning via DHL, after the connection is set up (4320, 9852, 8704)
Wrong for
- US stores that depend on USPS return labels with automated tracking (8389)
- Stores whose customers return several items at once and expect one label, or that need customer details printed on labels (1526)
- Stores that want FedEx return labels or fully automated approvals with UPS (0821)
- Merchants in a live launch who cannot absorb support delays or missed onboarding calls (8082, 9683, 8359)
- Stores planning to switch on refund or exchange automation without testing on a small set of orders first (4979)
- Merchants who want to trial the app quietly without chat, email and phone outreach (5582)
- Free-plan users who expect exchanges for different products; per a 2023 review this needed a $19.99/month plan (8143)
What will annoy you
Support that goes silent, misses scheduled onboarding calls, gives vague answers or leaves issues open for weeks. This contradicts the praise that dominates short-tenure reviews: 8 reviews, rising, last seen 2026-05.
How the developer behaves when it breaks
The developer almost never replies to positive reviews (1% overall) and replied to 38% of negatives. Recent replies came in batches on Apr 27, 2026 and May 20, 2026, all using a template: apologise, say the issue is resolved or traced to a logistics partner, and point to 24/7 chat or the existing email thread (8082, 1526, 2760, 9683, 5194). None of those reviewers updated their rating to confirm a fix. The billing complaint (8747), the unresolved month-long issue (5316), the $20k retroactive refund (4979), the USPS failures (8389) and the 2023 data-exposure report (6172) got no public reply. Older positive reviews do describe bugs fixed quickly and features added on request (5295, 9174, 9855).

Red flags
- Merchant reports still being charged after cancelling and deleting the app, and says support was unhelpful. No developer reply (May 2026). 8747
- Turning on automation retroactively refunded 30 days of exchanges, over $20,000, with $11,000 debited in one day. The developer blamed the merchant's setup and gave a $3,500 credit after 5 weeks (Apr 2025). A later reviewer relays the developer's explanation that it was user misconfiguration (6104). 4979 6104
- Possible data exposure: a shop could see conversations from other shops, including personal information (Aug 2023, single report, no reply). 6172
- App added its own shipping rule to the store's cart that the merchant could not remove (Mar 2026). The developer says it is fixed. 2760
- Settings changed and customer notifications not delivered while the app reported them as sent; described as happening repeatedly, during peak season. 5194 0821
Trend
Review volume is flat: 158 in the last 12 months against 154 in the prior 12. The negative share has roughly tripled, from 1.7% across all time to 5.1% in the last 12 months. Complaints from 2021–2023 were about missing features: one return per line item (6768), no visual email editor (0474), no bulk refund (4459), and at least the multi-item refund gap was later fixed (5295). Complaints since late 2025 are about operations: support not answering or missing calls, label errors lasting days, automation and settings changing unexpectedly, and a charge after uninstall. Some of these come from long-tenure users (0821 at 3 years, 2760 at 3 years, 5194 at 2 years). Recent positive reviews are shorter, more often from India, and mostly praise named support agents.
