Multi-carrier labels and rates

Packrooster Shipping

If you ship out of Finland on Posti, Matkahuolto, PostNord or Schenker, this is a deeply configurable label-and-checkout tool whose real selling point is same-day human support — but 70 of 79 reviews are Finnish, and the only two Norwegian text reviews are the two complaints.

Should you install it?

This is a Finnish multi-carrier shipping app that does labels, checkout delivery rules, pick-up points and a barcode pack-and-fulfil workflow, and the single most repeated thing across 62 of 76 texted reviews is that support answers within hours and will configure it for you — several merchants were onboarded over a video call. If you run a Finnish store on Posti, Matkahuolto, PostNord or Schenker, the evidence that it works and keeps working for years is strong, including at 400-500 orders a day. The known current limits are narrow but real: no Safari/iOS printing, even weight-splitting on multi-pallet freight, a weak Norwegian translation, and price increases with tiers that are too coarse for light users. Outside Finland the evidence thins out fast — six Swedish, two Norwegian and one Latvian review, with both Norwegian text reviews being the critical ones, and no reviewer naming DHL, UPS, FedEx or GLS. Treat non-Finnish carrier coverage and localisation as unproven rather than absent, and ask the vendor directly about your specific carrier before installing.

Fair evidence. 76 texted reviews is a decent base and the positive pattern is consistent and specific. But only 2 negatives and about 6 texts carrying any criticism at all means the failure modes are barely observed — I cannot tell you what breaks under stress because almost nobody has reported it. 70 of 79 reviews come from one country, so everything outside Finland rests on 9 reviews. There is also a visible onboarding-then-review pattern and 13% of reviewers had under a month of use, which inflates the positive signal. Separately, the review list I was given was mislabelled 'newest first' and was not in date order, so I re-sorted by date before judging recency.

Right for

  • Finnish stores running several carriers at once — DB Schenker/DSV, Matkahuolto and store pickup are named together in 8495; Posti and Matkahuolto pick-up points in 1256
  • Stores that want rule-based control over which delivery methods appear at checkout, including per-product tagging (8495, 5467, 6272, 3449)
  • Warehouses running a scan-to-pack process: barcode scan marks the order packed, prints the label and fulfils it (9370, 2445, 0940, 3491)
  • High-volume operations — one reviewer processes 400-500 web orders/day on the enterprise plan (4101); another reports tens of thousands of orders handled (1776)
  • Merchants who want a human to configure it for them; multiple reviewers were set up over a Google Meet or had settings changed for them by support (4299, 5707, 5884, 1605)
  • Stores exporting outside the Nordics that need customs/export paperwork (8695, 4493, 9032)

Wrong for

  • Anyone who needs to print from Safari or an iPad/iPhone — a reviewer had to install a different browser and the developer confirmed full iOS/Safari support is still on the to-do list (0053)
  • Norwegian-language stores: the app's Norwegian translation is called out as poor (7360), and both Norwegian text reviews are the critical ones (7360, 4015)
  • Pallet and heavy-freight senders needing per-parcel weights — a 6000kg five-pallet shipment gets the weight divided evenly, and each item must be clicked individually (4409)
  • Price-sensitive small stores: a six-year user says it is not at the cheap end and last year's increases stung, with plan tiers too coarse for stores using few features (2374)
  • Merchants expecting value with zero setup — one reviewer found it slower than pasting addresses into Matkahuolto by hand, which the developer attributed to incomplete setup (3421)
  • Stores needing a specific Unifaun shipping method out of the box: only Posti Smartship is exposed by default, others are opened on request (3399)
  • Stores shipping outside the Nordics on DHL, UPS, FedEx or GLS — no reviewer names any of these carriers, so coverage is untested in this evidence

What will annoy you

Price increases; plan tiers too coarse for stores that use only part of the feature set: 1 reviews, steady, last seen 2026-06.

How the developer behaves when it breaks

Replies to criticism are prompt and substantive but usually offer help or a roadmap rather than a shipped fix. Good outcomes: 7201 had a reported bug fixed within days; 3399 edited their 3★ review to say support was actively working on their Unifaun need; 2625 says update hiccups get corrected fast. Weaker outcomes: 0053 was told full Safari/iOS support has been on the to-do list 'jo jonkin aikaa' with no date; 4409 was told the bulk-packing request was added to the roadmap and that even weight distribution is the carrier API's behaviour; 3421 got a polite offer to help set things up. The recent 1★ (4015) got no reply at all. Note the reply pattern on the listing is bursty — eight replies to positive reviews all posted on 26 May 2026.

Red flags

  • A merchant uninstalled during the trial specifically to avoid being charged in trial periods, and got no developer reply — the review does not say they were actually charged, so treat this as an unanswered billing worry, not a proven billing surprise (4015, June 2026). 4015
  • Documented price increases with no cheaper tier for light users; the app lists as 'Free to install' but a six-year customer describes last year's rises as painful (2374). 2374
  • Reply rate is 18% overall and the developer replies to only half of negatives; eight of the visible replies to positive reviews are all dated 26 May 2026, a single catch-up batch rather than ongoing engagement on the listing. 4015 7436 9370 8495 1776 2906

Trend

Volume roughly doubled: 37 reviews in the last 12 months against 19 the year before, about 3 a month. The subject matter shifted — 2019-2023 reviews were mostly Finnish stores praising label printing and setup; the last 12 months add more Swedish and Norwegian merchants, more mention of international shipping and customs, and more long-tenure users (5-6 years). Negative share is flat at ~2.7%, but the character of the complaints changed from 'it doesn't integrate with X' (3399, 2021) and 'it doesn't save time' (3421, 2024) to maturity issues: pricing rises (2374), browser/OS coverage (0053), localisation outside Finland (7360) and freight edge cases (4409). The developer also became more visible on the listing in May 2026 after years of near-silence.
