Local delivery and pickup

OrderMate ‑ Delivery & Pickup

A cheap, simple cart-page delivery-date picker with genuinely fast hands-on support for placement and CSS tweaks, but the review stream has almost stopped and the only review with text in the last twelve months says the core date logic is broken.

Should you install it?

This is a basic cart-page delivery/pickup date and time-slot picker for small local-delivery retail - florists, bakeries, cake shops - and within that narrow job most merchants say it works and is cheap. The consistent strength is support that will log in and move, restyle or conditionally hide the calendar in your theme, usually within a day; the consistent weakness is that it does not grow, with per-product and per-shipping-method date rules requested repeatedly from 2021 to 2023 and refused. The real risk is silent breakage: multiple merchants report orders arriving with no delivery date because the calendar loaded late or an express-pay path skipped it, and a few report theme conflicts that blocked Add To Cart. Judge it mainly on this: in the last twelve months the app produced one review with text, a 1-star from a five-year customer saying the pickup date is overridden by a projected delivery estimate, with a polite reply and no evidence of a fix. If you need only a date field on the cart page and can live with checking orders manually, it is a reasonable cheap option; if the date drives your production or routing, the evidence that it still works in 2026 is not there.

Thin evidence. Two independent reasons. First, what the app does is clear from 127 text reviews, but whether it currently works rests on a single 2026 review, which says it does not - the 12-month sample is 3 reviews, 2 of them rating-only. Second, 46% of reviewers had the app under a month and a visible cluster of sub-hour and 11-minute 5-star reviews (including one that is keyboard mash) reads as collected during onboarding chat, which inflates the support and ease-of-setup themes and tells you nothing about reliability in production.

Right for

  • Small florists, bakeries and cake shops needing one delivery or pickup date and time slot per order, with a lead time and cut-off [4776] [9992] [1566] [7072]
  • Single-location local delivery and store-pickup operations that want to cap how many orders land per day or per slot [3595] [6824] [6810]
  • Merchants who cannot code and want the vendor to inject and position the calendar in their theme - the most praised thing in the corpus [6501] [1893] [1970] [2077]
  • Price-sensitive stores: repeatedly described as inexpensive for what it does [2405] [6309] [2667] [4429]

Wrong for

  • Stores needing different date rules per product or per shipping method - the same request recurs from 2021 to 2023 and was never shipped [2299] [4792] [4023] [6742] [2673]
  • Stores where the date must appear at checkout or survive express/accelerated checkout - the picker is cart-page only [1960] [2762] [5832]
  • Anyone who needs the date to be genuinely mandatory and tamper-proof; several merchants received orders with no date at all [2299] [0906] [2924] [0689]
  • Anyone wanting carrier integration, label printing or rate calculation - no reviewer mentions any carrier at all
  • Merchants who need same-day answers during a storefront emergency; the two worst outages got no timely reply [7437] [2924]

What will annoy you

Refuses per-product and per-shipping-method date rules; the same request recurs for years and is answered with no: 6 reviews, steady, last seen 2023-06.

How the developer behaves when it breaks

Replies to essentially everything, including all 8 negatives, but replying is not fixing. They are reliably good at the narrow class of problem they can solve by touching your theme: calendar placement, colour, hiding it on tagged products, bypass patches [1970] [0689] [5832] [7745] [2077]. On feature gaps and instability they do not deliver - [2299] was told no to every suggestion, [6742] was pointed at a competitor's app, [5736] was told the fault was a third-party app, [2924] and [7437] were answered by disputing the merchant with a screenshot of a sent reply. The 2026 complaint [5597] got a warm same-week reply offering email contact, with no evidence of resolution. Note two artefacts: dozens of 2019-2021 replies are identical boilerplate batch-posted on 2021-04-05, and replies that appear to predate their review are all on edited reviews - a display quirk, not misconduct.

  • Theme conflicts and storefront breakage - calendar vanishes, menus die, Add To Cart stops working 5 reviews fading, last seen 2022-01

Red flags

  • Silent breakage: the failure mode is an order arriving with no delivery date, which you discover after the customer has paid. Reported via late-loading calendar, express-pay bypass, and already-full or past dates staying selectable. 2299 0906 5832 0689 2924
  • When it conflicts with a theme it can block selling, not just degrade - one store reports Add To Cart dead, another reports losing sales overnight. 4381 7437 3885
  • Developer sometimes disputes or deflects the reviewer rather than fixing: blamed a third-party app, and answered two outage reports with screenshots proving a reply was sent. 5736 2924 7437
  • 100% reply rate on negatives but not one of the 8 negative reviews shows a confirmed fix in the corpus - replies offer an email address, dispute the claim, or arrive years late. 5597 7130 2299 4381 5736
  • The only review with text in the last 12 months is a 1-star from a store of almost 5 years, about the core pickup-date function, with no confirmed resolution. 5597
  • The listing tagline promises ETA-EDD, but no review describes estimated-delivery-date display working; the sole mention of a projected date is the 2026 complaint that it contradicts the chosen pickup date. 5597

Trend

The app has gone quiet. 3 reviews in the last 12 months versus 10 in the prior 12, and 130 total over 92 months. Of those 3, two are rating-only and carry no information; the single review with text is the 1-star [5597] from May 2026, from an Australian florist of almost 5 years, about the pickup date being overridden by a projected delivery estimate. Just outside the 12-month line the picture is friendlier - short positive notes about support through mid-2025 ([0281], [5156], [5739], [1580], [5914], [4520]) - so this is not a collapse in sentiment, it is a collapse in evidence. The old failure clusters (theme conflicts, 2022; date bypass, 2023; support silence, 2020) have no recent reports, but with one text review a year that silence is not proof of a fix. Themes have shifted from detailed setup stories in 2019-2021 to one-line "great support" notes in 2024-2025, which tells you less each year.
