Synctrack AI Order Tracking
A cheap, easy-to-install branded tracking page with unusually fast setup chat support — but almost every review is written within days of install, so nobody has told you how it behaves after six months.
Should you install it?
This is a low-cost branded tracking page with genuinely fast, patient setup support — that much is evidenced dozens of times over, including a merchant who got help minutes after an agent's shift ended (6076). What is not evidenced is how it holds up in production: 80% of reviewers had the app under a month, and in the last 12 months only one reviewer with meaningful tenure left any text at all, so the 4.87 rating is really a rating of the onboarding chat. Know two hard limits before installing: it does not push delivery status back into Shopify admin and support declined to build that (4454), and settings may be less flexible than you expect (5472). The one serious incident in the corpus — sync errors that drove customers to file chargebacks (2224) — is nearly three years old with no recurrence, and the Australia Post gap (5274) is older still, but neither was ever confirmed fixed by a subsequent reviewer. Install it on the free plan, run it alongside your existing tracking for a couple of weeks with real orders, and verify accuracy yourself rather than trusting the star count.
Thin evidence. Heavy tenure skew (80% under a month; only four of 31 recent reviews from stores past a month, three of them text-free) means the corpus documents the sales and setup experience, not steady-state reliability. Only two negative reviews in 93 and both are over a year old, so there is almost no recent critical signal to test the positives against. Carriers are essentially unnamed (Australia Post is the only carrier mentioned anywhere in 93 reviews), no reviewer states order volume, and no review describes fulfilment at scale.
Right for
- Small stores that want a self-hosted, branded 'where is my order' page instead of sending customers to carrier sites (9908, 9266)
- Merchants who want to start on a free plan and get hands-on chat help during setup (5025, 7189)
- Non-technical merchants who want someone to walk them through configuration step by step (6076, 7149)
- Stores where a single order ships from several suppliers with several tracking numbers that need to show on one page (5541)
- Merchants who need a tracking page to satisfy PayPal dispute/policy requirements (9941, 4920) — though only two reviews mention this
Wrong for
- Stores that need delivery status written back into Shopify admin — support said this is out of scope and declined (4454)
- Merchants who need deep configuration; one recent reviewer found the settings inflexible (5472)
- Australia-only shippers, at least historically — Australia Post integration was broken in Dec 2021 and no later review confirms it works (5274)
- Anyone who needs proven reliability at volume; no reviewer states an order count and almost no long-tenured reviewer leaves text
What will annoy you
Carrier coverage gaps and 'unsupported carrier' errors (Australia Post named): 2 reviews, fading, last seen 2021-12.
How the developer behaves when it breaks
Replies to essentially every review (97% overall, 100% of negatives), but reply rate is not resolution rate. Only one review confirms a fix actually landed: 5358 — 'The app did not support our courier partner initially but after reaching out to them they connected with the courier partner and made it possible.' Against that: 5274 got a promise that Australia Post would be 'on top priority in our roadmap' that no later review confirms; 2224 got a root-cause explanation and a claim the issue was addressed, unconfirmed by anyone since; 4454 got a polite but explicit refusal to build the requested feature; 7002 (3 stars from a store of almost two years) got a request for detail that went unanswered. Replies also lag badly at times — 4965 reviewed 15 June 2026 and was answered 16 August; 0058 reviewed 3 June 2026 and was answered 3 September. Replies read as templated and heavily emoji-laden.

Red flags
- One merchant reports the app's tracking errors led customers to file chargebacks — a direct money loss, not just an inconvenience. Single report, Oct 2023, no recurrence since; the developer replied blaming incorrect courier names on the Shopify orders and said it was addressed, but no later reviewer confirms. 2224
Trend
Volume picked up sharply in the last year — 31 reviews versus 6 in the prior 12 months — and no recent review is negative on stars. But the content got thinner, not better: the recent batch is dominated by one-line agent praise ('Great service', 'Great customer support', 'Very great customer service') and no-text 5-star ratings, from tenures measured in minutes and hours. The substantive older reviews that described what the app actually does (0520 on carrier support, 5541 on multiple tracking links, 7791 on carrier analytics) have no recent equivalent. The app also rebranded from Omega Order Tracking to Synctrack AI Order Tracking, but only one review (6092) touches anything AI, so the AI capability is essentially unevidenced here. The two carrier-integration failures are old (2021) and plausibly fixed; the scope limitation (Feb 2025) and the configurability complaint (June 2026) are the live ones. Worth noting: 7002, a 3-star from a store of almost two years in Sept 2025, left no text, so nobody knows what went wrong for the one long-tenured reviewer who was unhappy.
