Multi-carrier labels and rates
PH MultiCarrier Shipping Label
If Shopify won't quote your real shipping cost — dimensional boxes, multi-package splits, SurePost/Ground Saver, PostNord, Aus Post, India Post — this app will, but expect to book a call to configure it rather than set it up yourself.
Should you install it?
This is a bring-your-own-carrier-account app: it puts your real UPS, FedEx, PostNord, Aus Post, BlueDart or Canada Post rates at Shopify checkout, prints labels in bulk, and handles the two things Shopify does badly — pricing by box dimensions and splitting an order across multiple packages. Merchants who quantify the benefit describe stopping a real leak, not saving time: quoting customers less than they were paying the carrier (7721), eating overweight surcharges (4003), or being locked out of SurePost entirely (3226). The cost is that it is not self-serve — setup complexity is the one complaint reported continuously from 2022 through April 2026, and the standard remedy is a Zoom call with support, who by near-unanimous account are fast, phone-first and will configure it for you. The real risk is what happens after onboarding: only 31% of negative reviews get any reply, and the worst reports describe checkout rates silently failing with no alert (6455, 3623), plus no way to void or edit a label once an order is fulfilled and no return/exchange workflow (0709, 1016). Install it if your shipping cost genuinely depends on dimensions or non-native carrier services and you will take the onboarding call; look elsewhere if you run heavy returns, need DHL Global Express in Australia, or want to configure it yourself from documentation.
Fair evidence. The corpus is large (620 reviews with text, 82 months) and the product case is specific and repeatedly corroborated with named carriers, countries and use cases, so what the app is for is clear. But 62% of reviewers had it under a month and the dominant review-generating event is a proactive onboarding call within minutes of install, with a visible cohort reviewing after under an hour of use — so the star average measures sales-and-setup experience far better than it measures running the app. Long-tenure reviews exist (several at three to four years) but are mostly one-line thank-yous filed after a support ticket, which confirms support persists without evidencing day-to-day reliability. With only one negative in the last 12 months, I can say the recent failure rate is genuinely low, but I cannot rule out that unhappy established users churn quietly rather than review — the two sharpest complaints in the set, both August 2025, came from four-month and four-year users, not from new ones.
Right for
- Stores whose shipping cost depends on box dimensions, not just weight — reviewers repeatedly say Shopify's weight-only default was losing them money (7721, 2705, 4328, 4330)
- Merchants with their own negotiated carrier accounts who want those exact rates at checkout rather than a reseller's rates (3226, 7721, 8360)
- Stores needing carrier services Shopify doesn't expose natively: UPS SurePost/Ground Saver, FedEx SmartPost, FedEx LTL Freight (3226, 4405, 4645, 2705)
- Non-US markets with local postal carriers — Sweden/PostNord, Australia/Aus Post MyPost & TNT, India/BlueDart & Amazon Shipping & India Post, Hong Kong Post, NZ Post, Canada Post/Purolator (2444, 1453, 2868, 1494, 4777)
- Orders that must split into several boxes or mix parcel and freight in one cart (7971, 5209, 2705, 4003)
- Small-to-mid merchants who found ShipStation or Shippo too expensive (4150, 8539, 2448, 8640)
- Owners willing to sit through a 30-minute onboarding Zoom — reviewers who did say it was the thing that made the app usable (7721, 0128, 6871)
Wrong for
- Anyone who wants to self-serve from documentation — setup complexity is the single most consistent complaint across all seven years (1684, 2412, 6871, 2444, 7182)
- Stores with heavy returns/exchanges — reviewers report no return or exchange label workflow, and no way to edit or void a label once the order is marked fulfilled (1016, 0709)
- Australian stores needing DHL Global Express — one long-term merchant says this gap locks them into TNT and is pushing them to leave (3743); the developer separately confirms no DHL eCommerce integration (9622)
- EU-bound sellers relying on Sendle who need IOSS (0283)
- Merchants who want end-of-day shipment summary reports exported — reviewer says no report export exists (6807)
- Large catalogues — one merchant on the app about a year reports it is slow to load with a high volume of products and orders (3215)
- Anyone who needs written support with guaranteed continuity; the model is phone/Zoom-first and one reviewer was refused a second consultation (4315)
What will annoy you
Setup is not self-serve: complex UI, thin documentation, effectively requires a support call to configure: 16 reviews, steady, last seen 2026-04.
How the developer behaves when it breaks
Replies are routine on positive reviews and sparse where they matter: 58% of all reviews get a reply but only 31% of negatives. Recent replies (2025-2026) follow a template that restates the merchant's carrier setup and store category — useful as a record of what the app actually does, but they appear on 5-star and textless reviews far more than on complaints. Of the 13 negatives, only three get a substantive answer: a detailed workaround explanation (9923), an acknowledgement that void-label support was limited plus a promised next-release fix (0709), and an offer of a dedicated rep after a merchant was refused a second consultation (4315). The rest — including 'Terrible app, borderline useless' (2750), the daily-issues report (6841) and the failed UPS connection (7432) — have no reply at all. One artifact worth knowing: the visible developer reply on the Australian outage review (6455) is dated May 2025 and thanks the merchant for a TNT and Dangerous Goods setup; it never addresses the outage, because the merchant edited the review down to 1 star in August 2025 after that reply was posted. The same edited-review-mismatched-reply pattern appears on 1086 and 9622. Where the developer does engage, outcomes are mixed but real: a double-billing incident was fixed with an extended trial and the merchant updated to positive (7994), a 1-star was moved to 3 stars after FedEx was made to work (4099), and multiple merchants report requested features actually shipped — extra invoice template fields (3600), unnamed features added for a long-term user (0784), and consultative help configuring non-standard packing logic (9367). Against that: one merchant returned months later to say the same rate-display fault was never fixed (3623), and another says a promised UI overhaul never happened (6541).

“a address update within the shopify-store does not automatically update in the app. So an address-update needs to be manually done also within the app.” review 6438

- Live onboarding: proactive phone call and Zoom screen-share within minutes of install, named reps 158 reviews
“click a link, schedule a time (always tons of availability) and a super smart, knowledgeable, and helpful person joins the call. I've never needed more than 30 minutes with Support to completely configure a new carrier/box sizes/handling fees, etc.” review 7721

- Bulk label printing and automatic box selection once configured 22 reviews
“this app has replaced lot of manual calculations for example Shipping Rate calculation (Live), Selection of Box as per the Order & Label Generation all in one” review 5420
Red flags
- Checkout rates can go down silently with no email alert to the merchant. Two reviewers describe hours of lost sales and hundreds of abandoned carts before they noticed; one says the same fault recurred months after being told it was fixed. Last reported August 2025, so not a current pattern, but there is no evidence in any later review that alerting was added. 6455 3623 9385 1287
- Negative reviews are largely unanswered: the developer replies to 58% of all reviews but only 31% of negative ones. Of the 13 negatives, only three have a substantive reply. The 1-star outage report has a developer reply dated May 2025 that thanks the merchant for a TNT setup and never mentions the outage — because the review was edited down to 1 star in August after the reply was posted. 6455 2750 6841 0283 7432
- Onboarding-call access appears to be time-limited. One merchant got a good initial Zoom, then could not book a second consultation while still having many questions, and fell back to 2-3 day email replies with a different agent each time. 4315
- A promised fix is unconfirmed. In December 2024 the developer said the next release would allow cancelling and recreating UPS labels for fulfilled orders. No review since confirms this shipped. 0709 1016
- One historical billing surprise, now resolved: the day after the free trial ended, the app reported one charge amount while the merchant's Canada Post account was billed double. Caught only by chance. The developer fixed it and extended the trial; the merchant later updated to say no further issues. Last seen December 2021. 7994
Trend
The last 12 months (2025-09 to 2026-09) contain 145 reviews and exactly one negative: a US store, 21 days in, unable to book a second onboarding consultation (4315). That matches the reported 0.7% negative share for the period. The two most substantive complaints in the whole corpus — a four-month Australian store losing sales to shipping profiles that silently failed (6455) and a four-year Australian user writing only 'Terrible app, borderline useless' (2750) — are both August 2025, just outside the window, and both come from established rather than new users, which is the pattern worth watching. Volume is flat year on year (145 vs 137), so nothing has changed in review generation. What has changed in the content: the older 2019-2023 reviews argue the product case in detail (dimensional weight, SurePost, splitting boxes, Canada Post savings), while 2025-2026 reviews are shorter, name a support rep, and increasingly carry a developer reply that supplies the technical detail the merchant omitted. The failure themes that dominated 2022-2023 — carrier connections that would not complete, rates randomly dropping out — have not recurred in the last year. The one failure theme that is genuinely still live is setup complexity, reported steadily right up to April 2026 (3215, 1684, 2412, 6871), and it is now usually framed as a nuisance solved by booking a call rather than a blocker.
