Delivery Date time Pickup Kite
A young local delivery/pickup date picker whose main selling point in every review is the developer setting it up for you personally — usually within a day of install, which is also why there is almost no evidence about how it behaves over time.
Should you install it?
Kite is a local delivery and store-pickup date/time picker, not a shipping-carrier app — if you want labels, rates or tracking, stop here, because no reviewer mentions a carrier at all. What it demonstrably does well is solve the Shopify gap where customers assume they can collect the next day: reviewers use it to block weekend and holiday pickup, set cut-off times and blackout dates (4516, 5012, 2181), and one confirms it runs alongside Shopify's native local delivery settings (2181). The real product is the developer: nearly every review is about Sidharth configuring it for the merchant, sometimes on a call, sometimes building custom changes within hours (5757, 5012, 3864). Expect to need that help — several reviewers could not complete setup alone (3265, 0182, 3926, 7387), and one hit a conflict with an existing delivery-customisation app (0182). Be aware that zero negative reviews means no reported failures, not no failures.
Thin evidence. 34 reviews over 8 months, no negatives, 19 written within a day of install and only 4 from stores with a month or more of use. The review set reads as solicited during onboarding, so it evidences setup support but not durability; nothing describes long-run behaviour, and there are no complaints to show how the developer handles a failure he cannot fix.
Right for
- Small local shops needing customers to choose a delivery or pickup slot, with weekends, holidays and cut-off times blocked (4516, 7387, 5012)
- Merchants who want someone else to do the configuration — several reviewers were walked through setup or got a call (5757, 4516, 7562)
- Stores already using Shopify's native local delivery settings (2181)
- Merchants on a tight budget: one reviewer runs it on the free plan, another calls pricing reasonable for small business (3265, 7600)
- Non-English-speaking merchants: reviews in German and French got replies in kind (3926, 7841)
Wrong for
- Anyone wanting carrier labels, live rates or tracking — not one review mentions any carrier or shipping label
- Merchants who want to self-serve: most reviewers who describe setup needed the developer's help to finish it (3265, 0182, 7387, 3926)
- High-volume or multi-channel operations — no review states an order volume or any sales channel beyond Shopify
- Anyone who needs evidence of long-run reliability: only 4 of 34 reviews come from stores with a month or more of use
- Merchants who need documented SLAs or a support team rather than one named person (Sidharth/Sid appears in most reviews)
What will annoy you
Setup is not self-serve — merchants hit glitches or could not configure it alone and needed the developer to finish the job: 5 reviews, steady, last seen 2026-07.
How the developer behaves when it breaks
The developer (Sidharth, also 'Sid') replies to 30 of 34 reviews, and reviewers consistently describe him fixing things in-thread rather than deflecting: setup glitches identified and fixed (3265), a merchant walked through setup on a call and an unrelated checkout issue resolved (5757), requested changes shipped in about six hours (5012), conflicts with another delivery app worked through (0182). Two caveats a sceptic should note. First, there are zero negative reviews, so there is no evidence of how he behaves when a merchant is angry or when something cannot be fixed — 'resolves usually' is inferred from positive reviews describing repairs, not from recovered complaints. Second, the replies are batched and templated: 13 replies all carry the date July 13 2026, and 1165, 1110, 5757 and 4736 received word-for-word identical text.

Trend
There is no prior period to compare against: the first review is 2026-01-23 and all 34 reviews fall in the last 12 months (reviews_prior_12m is 0), so 'the years before' does not exist for this app. Within the eight months on the store the pattern is flat — roughly 2.8 reviews a month, all 5-star, all support-led, with no shift in themes. The one recurring friction, difficulty completing setup alone, appears in February (7387), May (3926), June (0182) and July (3265), so it is steady rather than fading; there is no later volume that would show it fixed. Nothing here can be called 'resolved'.
