PH Ship Rate & Track for FedEx

It exists because Shopify's native carrier setup won't give you FedEx One Rate or your negotiated FedEx rates without the Advanced plan — it fills that hole well for parcel, leans hard on a human onboarding call, and is weakest on FedEx Freight/LTL.

Should you install it?

If you ship FedEx parcel from Shopify with your own negotiated account or One Rate, this is the app reviewers say does the job that Shopify's native integration won't, and it does it without forcing you onto the Advanced Shopify plan. Expect the setup to be fiddly — 'complicated setup' and 'a little bit of a learning curve' show up steadily right through 2026 — but expect the vendor to call you within minutes of install and configure it with you on Zoom, which is what most of the 638 reviews are actually rating. Two limits are not resolved: FedEx Freight/LTL economy rates fail to pull for bulk and heavy shippers (and FedEx only authorises one shipping address per account for Freight, so multi-warehouse Freight is out), and the app only keeps 60 days of shipment history. When it breaks badly there is no live support channel — one Freight merchant reports the same failure 5-6 times a year, and a Türkiye store went 9 days unable to print labels, neither of which drew a public reply. The strongest recent signal is that long-tenure stores were carried through FedEx's forced REST API migration in 2026 without breaking.

Fair evidence. The review base is large and the developer replies are specific enough to verify against, but it is heavily solicited: 52% of reviewers had the app under a month, dozens wrote in under an hour, and one merchant says explicitly they were pestered into reviewing. Zero negative reviews in 12 months on an app with known unfixed Freight and data-retention limits means the negatives are under-represented, so the failure side of this digest rests on a handful of reviews rather than a broad sample.

Right for

  • US, UK, Canada, UAE, Singapore and EU stores shipping FedEx parcel with a negotiated FedEx account who want those rates at checkout
  • Stores on Basic/Shopify plans who don't want to pay for Advanced Shopify just to enable carrier-calculated rates (0527, 0541, 2227)
  • Anyone who needs FedEx One Rate quoted and labelled from Shopify — reviewers repeatedly say no other app does this (1288, 3252, 5668, 2766)
  • Stores that were copy-pasting addresses into FedEx Ship Manager and want labels, auto-fulfilment and tracking inside Shopify (2442, 0410, 4441)
  • International senders needing automatic commercial invoice / ETD upload and duties configuration (0230, 7790, 4999)
  • Merchants who are happy to take a scheduled onboarding Zoom call and let support configure it for them

Wrong for

  • Stores whose main need is FedEx Freight / LTL economy rates on bulk or heavy goods — the only two reviewers who tried this at scale both failed (0287, 9065)
  • Multi-warehouse stores wanting FedEx Freight: FedEx authorises one shipping address per account for Freight, so fulfilment from other locations breaks (9065, per the developer's own reply)
  • Stores that need more than 60 days of shipment history inside the app for audits or tracking (9750)
  • Multi-carrier stores — this is FedEx-only; the developer redirects multi-carrier users to a separate app of theirs (1459)
  • Anyone expecting to configure it unaided in an afternoon; setup complexity is the single most persistent complaint (9537, 4002, 0060, 9913)

What will annoy you

Setup is genuinely complicated and effectively requires a support call to finish: 25 reviews, steady, last seen 2026-02.

How the developer behaves when it breaks

Replies to 55% of all reviews and 71% of negatives. Negative replies are specific rather than boilerplate and often name a real mechanism: the FedEx one-authorised-address limit on Freight (9065), the default-location behaviour plus a promised multi-location feature (2855), the revert-to-old-UI checkbox (7389), the cash-only FedEx account that blocked signup plus a refund (0674), and the 60-day data window with a manual history export (9750). Two negatives were publicly upgraded after the fix: 1 star to 4 on rate-fetch failures (8319) and a bad review corrected to 4 stars on shipment history (9750). But the two most damaging recent 1-star reviews — the recurring Freight rate failure (0287) and the 9-day label outage (3094) — got no public reply at all. Replies from 2026 are templated marketing copy that names each store's country and product category.

Red flags

  • A merchant states plainly they were pestered into leaving a review. Combined with 52% of reviews coming from stores under a month old and dozens written 24-45 minutes after install, the 4.9 rating is substantially a measure of onboarding attentiveness, not steady-state reliability. 0322 5189 8689 9501 1632
  • The 60-day shipment-history cap is not visible until you need old records. The developer only surfaced it — and manually retrieved the data — after the merchant posted a bad review. 9750
  • No live support channel during an outage. One Freight merchant reports the same rate failure 5-6 times a year with 'no live support whatsoever'; a Türkiye store went 9 days with no solution. Neither 1-star review received a public developer reply. 0287 3094
  • Sign-up/billing friction where the FedEx account wasn't accepted and the merchant struggled to cancel; the developer did refund and explained the cause (cash-only FedEx account, wrong billing address). 0674

Trend

Volume is flat and steady: 112 reviews in the last 12 months versus 114 the year before, about 9 a month, with zero negatives in the last 12 months. The theme mix has shifted, though. Reviews from 2019-2023 talk about first-time FedEx credentialing, label certification and one-off bugs; 2025-2026 reviews are dominated by two things — onboarding Zoom calls for new installs, and long-tenure stores (2 to 6 years) being migrated onto FedEx's new REST API without losing rates or labels (6019, 4289, 6381, 9235, 2061, 5604, 7198). That migration wave is the strongest current evidence the app is actively maintained. The structural complaints that mattered in 2023 — partial fulfilment, multi-location inventory, the new UI — have not reappeared since early 2024 and look resolved. The two that have not been shown fixed are FedEx Freight/LTL economy rates (last reported January 2025) and the 60-day shipment-history cap (March 2026, with an export feature said to be in development).
