EZ Exporter ‑ Data Exports

A programmable data-export engine that will produce almost any file layout your ERP or 3PL demands, with fast email support from the developer himself — but you need to be comfortable with formulas, and 99 reviews contain not one criticism, so they cannot tell you how it fails.

Should you install it?

This is a data-export tool, not a shipping tool — if you came looking for labels, rates or tracking, it does none of that, and no review mentions a single carrier. What it does is let you define exactly what columns go into a file, compute derived values with formulas, and drop the result on FTP/SFTP, Google Sheets or email on a schedule; merchants use it to feed ERPs, 3PLs, warehouse systems and marketplace product feeds. The consistent strength across nine years is email support from the developer, who by many accounts writes merchants' formulas for them and has twice caught broken exports before the merchant noticed (4917, 0108). The honest caveat is the learning curve: the most detailed recent review says outright it is best for someone familiar with Shopify who has some exposure to programming (5790), and the frequency of merchants needing help with formulas (2732, 3660, 2405) suggests the tool leans on that support to be usable. Budget for a setup conversation rather than expecting to self-serve on day one.

Fair evidence. Zero negative reviews in 115 months and only two 4-star reviews, neither containing a complaint, so the corpus contains almost no direct evidence of how this app fails — the failures listed here are inferred from friction admitted inside 5-star reviews. Only 9 reviews in the last 12 months, and those are mostly short praise with little detail. 30% of reviewers had used the app under a month, some only hours. No developer replies exist to cross-check any merchant claim. Confidence is not low because many multi-year tenures independently report the app still working.

Right for

  • Stores feeding orders into an ERP, WMS or 3PL that demands a fixed file layout (0951 ERP, 5790 3PL/ERP load file, 4851 3PL, 8556 multiple back-end systems)
  • Teams replacing a recurring manual report with a scheduled FTP/Google Sheets/email drop (6441 FTP, 2548 and 4154 Google Sheets, 7458 inventory every 15 minutes, 8479 emailed inventory)
  • Merchants building product feeds for marketplaces and affiliate networks (1554, 2049, 2732)
  • Anyone needing derived values Shopify will not give natively: tax-exclusive prices and recalculated shipping (3660), order processing time (4035), Shopify Bundles sales (7717)
  • Migrants from Magento/Xtento order exports looking for the nearest equivalent (3942)
  • Multi-store operators running export configs across several sites (2613, six sites)

Wrong for

  • Anyone wanting shipping labels, carrier rates or tracking — no review mentions any carrier or buying a label; this app only produces data files
  • Non-technical buyers wanting a one-click report: reviewers describe a learning curve and trial and error (5790, 1561, 4875)
  • Stores wanting dashboards or in-app analytics — every reviewer describes files going out to another system, nobody describes reading results inside the app
  • Anyone needing to write data back into Shopify: reviewers use separate apps for that (0951 EZ Fulfill and EZ Inventory, 6058 EZ Fulfill, 4875 their Importer)
  • Merchants who need phone or live chat, or same-hour answers around the clock — support is email and typically within 24 hours to 2 days (7717, 6058, 0951, 6438)

What will annoy you

Non-trivial formulas and calculated fields often need the developer to write them for you: 10 reviews, steady, last seen 2025-07.

How the developer behaves when it breaks

There are zero public replies on the App Store and zero negative reviews to reply to, so there is no observable public record of how the developer handles complaints. What reviewers describe instead is private email support: same-day or faster answers (7717 names support@highviewapps.com and "often within half an hour"; 6058 "almost always less than 24 hours"), features added on request (5623 within hours; 0728), and three cases of the developer spotting a problem before the merchant did (4917 an encoding error in a daily export, fixed in under 12 hours; 0108; 3040). One merchant was referred to two competitors when the app could not do the job (8304). Note this is all merchant self-report, uncorroborated by any developer reply.

Trend

Volume is flat and low: 9 reviews in the last 12 months against 11 in the prior 12, roughly 0.8 a month, with no negatives in either period. The themes have not changed — support and export flexibility dominate throughout — but the recent reviews are markedly thinner. The last year's entries are largely one-liners (6637 \"Great app and great support!\", 0857 \"Nice app and perfect support from the team!\", 0013 \"Lots of possibilities and support is great!\"), where the 2019-2021 reviews named calculated fields, FTP destinations and specific ERP tables. So there is less new information about what the app can and cannot do than the review count suggests. Two counterweights: several of the recent nine come from 2-6 year tenures (6288, 5623, 6637, 3821, 3103), and the only reports of the app breaking are from 2019-2020 (8485, 4917), with nothing similar since.
