EasyRoutes Local Delivery
If you run your own drivers and vans, this does route planning, driver app and customer tracking properly — but you pay per driver seat, and merchants who only deliver a couple of days a week keep saying that hurts.
Should you install it?
EasyRoutes is for merchants who deliver with their own drivers and vans, and on that job the reviews are consistent across six years and a dozen countries: route building drops from hours to minutes, the driver phone app is learnable by non-technical drivers, delivery status writes fulfilment back into Shopify automatically, and customer notifications plus a tracking page measurably cut 'where is my order' contacts. Support is the most-praised element — named people, fast replies, founder calls, and requested features shipped within days. The one complaint that is clearly getting louder is money: you pay per driver seat, and merchants who deliver only a few days a week, or run on nonprofit budgets, say the cost does not match their usage (7936, 1100, 0078); the free tier is capped and there is no cheap step between. Reliability risk looks low but not zero — one outage with support unreachable and some driver sign-in failures appeared between August and December 2025 and have not recurred since. Install it if you run regular routes at real volume; price the seats against your actual delivery days first if you don't.
Fair evidence. The positive picture rests on a large body of detailed reviews from merchants with 1-4 year tenures who name volumes, vehicles and workflows, which is strong evidence. But 41% of reviews carry no text and those are concentrated in the last 12 months, so the current failure modes are under-observed rather than demonstrably absent — the recent 0% negative share is close to uninformative. With only 2 one-star reviews in six years, almost all diagnostic signal comes from a handful of 3- and 4-star 'but...' reviews, which is a thin base for judging how the app behaves when it breaks today.
Right for
- Merchants delivering with their own drivers most days of the week — 50-100 stops/day across 2-3 drivers is a repeatedly described, working setup (5547)
- Bulky or heavy goods delivered locally: furniture (7302), tonne bags of logs and topsoil (0010), tires (5836), bulk foods (8651)
- Wholesale/recurring delivery rounds — 300+ accounts weekly (6006), subscription boxes that Shopify's native route generator won't pick up (0726)
- Stores wanting to cut 'where is my order' contacts: notifications and tracking page repeatedly credited with near-eliminating those calls (2290, 5649, 7302)
- Seasonal or spiky operations that need to add drivers for a peak week and drop them after (3779, 8889, 5547)
- Non-US/Canada operators — UK, Australia, NZ, Netherlands, South Africa, Singapore, Chile and Malta reviewers all report it working (9135, 1673, 3724)
Wrong for
- Low-volume delivery businesses — if you only deliver occasionally, the per-driver seat price is the single most common 2026 complaint (1100, 0078, 7936)
- Very tight budgets and nonprofits; the free tier is capped (a reviewer states 50 deliveries/month) and there is no cheap middle tier (5460, 0078)
- Anyone needing a public API to pull route data into a labelling system for by-route label printing — no API as of the only review raising it (0825)
- Teams wanting live GPS-based ETAs that update from the driver's position, or in-app turn-by-turn navigation instead of a hand-off to Google Maps (9833, 8765)
- Non-English-speaking teams — a German reviewer asks for a German UI (8765)
- Anyone expecting to run the driver app on non-standard Android hardware such as an in-dash car head unit (8946)
- Merchants who want zero setup learning — several report the interface takes a while to click (2084, 9871, 1395)
What will annoy you
Per-driver seat pricing is painful for merchants with low or uneven delivery volume; no cheap middle tier between the capped free plan and per-seat plans: 8 reviews, rising, last seen 2026-07.
How the developer behaves when it breaks
Replies are rare overall (6% of reviews) but universal on critical ones (100% of negatives). They are specific rather than boilerplate: naming the SMS provider and Singapore carrier coverage (3537), enumerating the exact driver settings already available (6435), pointing to packing slips and data exports in place of an API (0825), and giving a direct support email after an outage (1830). Fixes are evidenced: a postcode lookup bug fixed quickly (8009), an erroneous charge refunded (0448), initial issues resolved (1683), and multiple requested features shipped in days (5017, 9176, 3705). Two caveats a sceptic should note. First, one merchant states the fix came 'only after negative review' (1830). Second, there is an unresolved factual dispute: a merchant says drivers are not dynamically assigned and seats are expensive at low volume, and the developer replies that dynamic assignment is supported and cheaper plans exist (1100) — the reviews do not settle which is right. The 2020 reply claiming all of a reviewer's feature requests were addressed (8927) is the developer's own account, not the merchant's confirmation.

Red flags
- One merchant was charged after installing without ever setting up an account; they had to ask for a refund publicly in a review. It was refunded promptly and they edited the review to say so (2024-06). 0448
- During an outage the merchant could not reach support at all, and says the fix came only after they posted a negative public review (2025-08). The developer's reply acknowledges the help portal was also unreachable. 1830
- Support once told a merchant they could not fix a driver-app login error on their Android in-dash car stereo and to look for another app (2023-01). The developer publicly said they followed up by email and voicemail with no reply. 8946
- 41% of all reviews (118 of 287) carry no text, and the textless ones are concentrated in the last 12 months — the recent zero-negative rate is weakly evidenced. 1601 6542 1524 9442 7739
Trend
Review volume roughly tripled (136 in the last 12 months vs 54 the year before, ~11/month), but the information content fell sharply: recent reviews are overwhelmingly rating-only, while 2020-2023 reviews were long and operational. The themes that survive in recent text have shifted from 'this replaced our spreadsheets' (2020-2022) to pricing and polish. Pricing is the one genuinely rising complaint — every instance of the per-seat/low-volume objection with a date in 2026 (7936, 1100, 0078) is recent, and it is now the most common thing critics say. Reliability complaints cluster in a narrow window (an outage and driver sign-in problems, 2025-08 to 2025-12) and have not recurred in roughly nine months and 100+ reviews since, so they read as fading rather than proven fixed. Feature gaps raised in 2024 and earlier (no API, missing ETAs) have not been repeated recently, but nor is there evidence they were closed. One 2026 reviewer mentions 'some small bugs' without saying which (4938), and one 3-star from 2025-10 has no text at all (0749) — neither can be diagnosed.
