Single-carrier integrations

DHL & Post Shipping | easyDHL

If you ship from Germany on your own DHL business account and Deutsche Post, this replaces DHL's own tools well — but budget roughly €20–25/month, and expect ticket-only support that a minority of merchants say they only reached after posting a public review.

Should you install it?

This is a single-carrier tool for German merchants on their own DHL business account, with genuinely good Deutsche Post Internetmarke and Warenpost coverage that most rivals skip, plus automatic customs docs, invoices and tracking write-back. Merchants who ship 5–50 orders a day from Germany consistently describe it as faster and less error-prone than DHL's own Shopify app, and multi-year users still report it running cleanly — the bug complaints of 2022–2024 have faded. The two live risks are price and support reachability: the entry plan now runs about €20–25/month with barcode scanning and direct printer control held back in a ~€99 Premium-Plus tier that is not shown in the App Store listing, and a persistent minority of merchants — including the newest, still-unanswered negative from August 2026 — say they could not reach support until they posted a public review. Treat the 4.87 average as unreliable: two multi-day bursts totalling roughly 48 near-contentless reviews from existing users dominate the recent record. Install it if you ship DHL and Deutsche Post from Germany and can live with ticket-only support; look elsewhere if you need multiple carriers, accounting-grade exports, warehouse bin locations, or a support SLA.

Fair evidence. Only 5 negative reviews exist across 382, so every failure count rests on a handful of reports and none can be called a systemic pattern. The rating is inflated by two solicitation bursts of largely text-free reviews from long-tenure stores, and only 320 of 382 reviews have text. The evidence is also single-market: 373 of 382 reviewers are German, so there is no basis to judge non-German shipping origins, and no review states a per-day volume above roughly 50 orders. Recency evidence on support is genuinely mixed — the newest negative is unanswered, while dozens of 2026 reviews praise reply speed.

Right for

  • German shops on a DHL Geschäftskunden account doing roughly 5–50 orders/day ([1409]), scaling to batches of several hundred ([3539])
  • Shops that also send letters and small packets via Deutsche Post Internetmarke / Warenpost / Kleinpaket, not just parcels ([2240], [5897], [1411], [6627])
  • Shops shipping to Switzerland and other non-EU destinations that need customs docs and tax-compliant commercial invoices generated automatically ([9417], [3298], [8428])
  • Merchants replacing DHL's own Shopify app, Billbee, Shipcloud or Sendcloud who want fewer clicks rather than a full logistics suite ([2497], [5897], [4265], [3087])
  • Shops that want Shopify-native invoices and automatic tracking write-back that triggers Shopify shipping emails ([6565], [9104], [4098])
  • Operations with an external fulfilment centre or 3PL doing the packing ([2497], [2776])
  • Sellers also shipping Otto.de or Marketplace Connect orders ([5854], [6510])

Wrong for

  • Multi-carrier operations — this is DHL/Deutsche Post only; Hermes, DPD and GLS are separate paid apps from the same developer ([9004], [8911])
  • Shops needing accounting-grade exports: no invoice CSV export, no free date-range picker, no warehouse bin/Lagerplatz display — the developer confirmed all three in reply ([4625])
  • Anyone wanting phone or live human support as standard; the developer states it deliberately runs a scalable ticket system ([0565], [7578], [3261])
  • Merchants on a tight tool budget: entry plan around €20–25/month, and barcode-scan with direct printer control sits in a Premium-Plus tier at ~€99/month that is not visible in the App Store listing ([7353], [5243], [1616], [5925])
  • Shops whose returns flow needs cancellation invoices where return postage is deducted ([6792])
  • Non-German shipping origins — almost the entire review base ships from Germany, so there is no evidence for other origins ([5775] is a South African company shipping from its German warehouse)

What will annoy you

Price and plan changes: merchants report features they used for free moving behind a paid tier, and find the entry price steep for what they use: 11 reviews, rising, last seen 2026-03.

How the developer behaves when it breaks

Replies to about 16% of reviews overall but roughly 80% of negatives. On technical faults the developer usually asks the merchant to open a ticket and then fixes it fast — several 1–3★ reviews were later edited up to 5★ after contact ([7504], [6056], [5694], [0134], [3606]). The problem is getting that first contact: at least five merchants say repeated emails or tickets went unanswered until they posted publicly ([8194], [7578], [3261], [7504], [5694]), and the newest of those is still unanswered. On pricing complaints the replies are argumentative rather than remedial — converting the price to cents per day ([7353], [5037]) or blaming Shopify's listing limits ([1616]) — and on the one billing dispute the developer named the merchant's shop in public ([4986]). Point-by-point technical rebuttals are substantive and honest about limits, including confirming missing features ([4625]).

Red flags

  • One merchant states a refund was offered on condition that they delete their review. The developer's reply disputes the account and does not address this specific allegation. Single, disputed report — but worth knowing before you rely on this vendor's goodwill. 4986
  • In that same exchange the developer named the merchant's shop publicly and quoted their insults back in the reply. Whatever the merits, that is how a dispute with this vendor can end up looking in public. 4986
  • The newest negative review in the set (3 Aug 2026, a store of almost two years asking how to reach support at all) has no developer reply. Support reachability, not app function, is the live complaint. 8194 7578
  • Billing surprise on the free plan: a merchant reports transitioning to per-transaction charges after a transaction allowance without an in-app warning. The developer says tariff terms were in Settings and communicated by mailing. Old (Jan 2022) but the same shape of complaint recurs. 3008 7353
  • Merchants are prompted inside the app to leave reviews, with a minimum character requirement. This distorts the star average — see review integrity. 8571

Trend

Review volume has nearly halved (103 in the prior 12 months, 65 in the last 12), while negative share rose from 1.3% lifetime to 4.6% in the last 12 months — three 1–2★ reviews ([4625] Nov 2025, [7353] Dec 2025, [8194] Aug 2026) plus 3★ complaints ([5243], [7578]). The theme mix has shifted. 2020–2023 reviews are overwhelmingly about speed relative to DHL's own app and about bugs being fixed within hours. 2025–2026 reviews still report that the app runs cleanly day-to-day ([3738], [4482], [1430]) — the old bug complaints have genuinely faded, last seen around Oct 2024 — but the criticism has moved to price and to reaching support. Pricing complaints cluster in Nov–Dec 2025 after a stated ~$6/month increase and continue into Mar 2026 ([9565]). Support-reachability complaints run continuously from Apr 2024 to Aug 2026. The other change is dilution: two multi-day bursts of contentless reviews mean a smaller share of recent reviews say anything at all.
