DS Pickup Delivery Date & Time
A cheap, flexible pickup and local-delivery slot picker for small local businesses, where the real product is a support team that will write custom code for your store — but with zero negative reviews in 75, nobody has documented what happens when it goes wrong.
Should you install it?
This is a pickup and local-delivery slot picker for small local businesses, and on the evidence it does that job: bakeries, flower farms and community centres describe working per-product lead times, closed days, postcode delivery zones and pickup at multiple locations, at a price several reviewers call cheaper than what they left. The strongest and most consistent finding across 75 reviews is the support team — fast, and willing to write custom code for your theme or build a missing feature on request. That is also the main caveat: a dozen reviewers could only finish setup because support did it for them, so budget for a support conversation rather than a self-serve install, and be aware that no review describes what happens to that custom code when you change theme or uninstall. Only one functional limitation was ever reported publicly — night/next-day delivery combined with in-store pickup (5568, March 2026) — and the developer logged it as a suggestion rather than fixing it. The honest bottom line: this corpus cannot tell you what happens when the app breaks, because no review describes it breaking.
Thin evidence. Zero negative reviews across 75, 11 with no text at all, 57% of reviewers under one month of use, and one five-star review written after six minutes (4701). The two non-five-star ratings came from the two longest-tenured reviewers and carry no text. Recovery behaviour, billing conduct and failure modes are entirely untested by this evidence, and the review pattern is consistent with solicitation during support chat.
Right for
- Micro-local businesses where most or all orders are pickup or local delivery: a custom cake bakery where every order is pickup (5989), a flower farm running delivery plus pickup at multiple locations (3374), a Dutch community centre that ships nothing and defines its delivery area by postcode (0175)
- Merchants who need per-product or per-collection scheduling rules: different lead times, production times or cut-offs by item (7981, 0175, 8953)
- Stores that want a slot picker on Shopify POS as well as online — one bakery reports both (5989)
- Merchants willing to let the developer write custom code for their theme, and who want features added on request (6753, 0911, 3169, 4750)
- Price-sensitive small businesses replacing a more expensive date-picker app (1782, 3374, 9371, 5989)
Wrong for
- Merchants who need a fully self-serve setup — a large share of reviewers only finished configuration after support intervened (9516, 8897, 7333, 8953, 6927)
- Anyone needing night-time or next-day-overnight delivery windows, or in-store pickup in that same configuration: one French merchant could not set it up and the developer said it was 'noted' rather than fixed (5568)
- Multi-carrier shippers who need label printing or live carrier rates — no review mentions any carrier by name, and nothing in 75 reviews describes label or rate functionality
- High-volume or enterprise stores: no reviewer states an order volume anywhere in the corpus, and every verifiable use case is a single-location or few-location local business
- Merchants who need to know how the vendor handles outages or serious breakage before committing — the review corpus contains no such incident to learn from
What will annoy you
Setup frequently cannot be completed without contacting support — reviewers praise the rescue, but the rescue was needed: 12 reviews, steady, last seen 2026-08.
How the developer behaves when it breaks
Replies to 96% of reviews, but these are thank-you notes on positive reviews, not problem resolution — there has never been a negative review to respond to, so recovery behaviour is completely untested. What can be verified is resolution reported inside positive reviews: setup issues fixed quickly (9808, 2662), an urgent issue resolved (5727), a double-shipping problem fixed (0607), packing slip and invoice customisations delivered (0175), and features built on request (0911, 3169). The one functional gap ever reported publicly (5568, night/next-day delivery) drew 'it's noted and will be considered for future improvements' and no evidence of a fix. Reply latency is inconsistent: most are same-day, but 3148 (June 2025) was answered in January 2026, roughly seven months later, and 6933 and 1924 show similar multi-month gaps.

Trend
This app is essentially new: first review April 2025, 68 of 75 reviews in the last 12 months against 7 in the prior period, roughly 5.7 per month. There is no 'before' to compare against, so nothing can be called resolved or fading on the evidence. Themes have been flat throughout: support speed and hands-on setup dominate from the earliest reviews (2662, April 2025) to the latest (3420, September 2026). What has grown slightly in recent months is concrete functional detail — postcode delivery zones, per-product lead times, POS pickup, packing slip customisation (0175, 5989, both early 2026) — which is more informative than the generic support praise that makes up most of 2025. Tenure has also crept up: several 5–8 month and 1-year users now appear (3420, 2304, 6197), where mid-2025 reviews were almost all days-old installs.
