Multi-carrier labels and rates

Boxtal ‑ Shipping solution

Cuts French parcel costs and puts Mondial Relay, Chronopost, Colissimo and UPS/DHL/FedEx behind one label screen with genuinely fast setup help — but when a carrier loses, breaks or re-weighs a parcel, several merchants say Boxtal stalls, refuses, or stops answering.

Should you install it?

If you ship from France to French and European addresses and have no carrier contracts of your own, this does the core job: cheaper rates, relay-point delivery, one label screen covering Mondial Relay, Chronopost, Colissimo and the express carriers, and tracking pushed back onto the order. Setup support is the most consistently praised thing in the corpus — reviewers routinely name the agent who fixed their integration within a day. The risk is not the software, it is what happens after a parcel goes wrong: four merchants across five years, most recently July 2026, report compensation refused or left hanging for parcels lost, broken or stuck in a relay point, and two report supplementary invoices from carrier weight audits they say are fabricated (one billed for 3 kg on a pair of glasses). Phone contact has been narrowed to ticketing by design, and the newest 1★ says support simply stopped replying — it is also the only negative review here with no developer reply. Install it if your lane is domestic France and you can stomach fighting the occasional claim yourself; look elsewhere if you ship outside Europe or need a person on the phone when money is at stake.

Thin evidence. Only 8 reviews in the last 12 months and 4 negatives in total across 83 months, all from one country, so the failure patterns are real but impossible to size — I cannot tell whether disputed claims hit 1 in 20 merchants or 1 in 200. A visible cluster of 5★ reviews thanking a named agent, some from stores that had not yet shipped, means the positive mass mostly evidences onboarding attentiveness rather than long-run service quality.

Right for

  • France-based stores shipping domestically and inside Europe — 42 of 43 reviewers are French (7783, 7583, 3739)
  • Small sellers and microenterprises with no carrier contracts who want negotiated rates plus relay-point delivery without signing with each carrier (3091, 0327, 4091)
  • Stores where light parcels dominate; one reviewer names '2shop' rates as strong on small weights (6277)
  • Merchants who value hand-holding during setup — repeated reports of named agents fixing integration problems within a day (7884, 4310, 6085)
  • Steady long-run volume: one store reports over 10,000 shipments across ~4 years without major problems (2172)

Wrong for

  • Stores whose main lane is outside Europe — the one reviewer who priced France→USA found rates far above plain Colissimo (3612), and a 4★ reviewer asked for better international tariffs (4091)
  • Merchants who need a phone line when a shipment goes wrong; support is ticket-based and the developer confirms phone contact is deliberately limited (8341, versus 1853 in 2019 which praised phone support)
  • Anyone who cannot absorb or contest post-shipment weight-surcharge invoices from carrier audits (1696, 0399)
  • Stores needing relay-point selection inside checkout rather than on the thank-you page (3739)
  • Non-French-speaking teams: every review, including the UK one, is written in French (1853)

What will annoy you

Compensation for lost, broken or stuck parcels is refused, stalled, or left unresolved: 4 reviews, steady, last seen 2026-07.

How the developer behaves when it breaks

Replies are near-universal (98%) and substantive rather than boilerplate: on negatives the developer engages with specifics — explaining the Colissimo-versus-express price gap and confirming multi-parcel defaults were in development (3612), asking for order references to reopen a refused claim (2970), conceding that ticketing limits phone contact while defending the refund policy (8341), and citing the carrier's 15-day refund window (2354). Confirmed fixes visible in reviews are all setup or connection problems (7262, 1810, 6085). No review shows a compensation or surcharge dispute ending resolved, and the most recent 1★ — support silence plus a disputed weight invoice, July 2026 — has no reply at all (0399).

Red flags

  • Surprise supplementary invoices after shipping, based on carrier weight audits the merchant disputes; one reviewer was billed for 3 kg on a pair of glasses, another reports many audited discrepancies on Mondial Relay requiring monthly photo claims 0399 1696
  • Support silence during an active dispute: the July 2026 1★ says support stopped replying to all requests, and it is the only negative review in the corpus with no developer reply at all 0399
  • Money disputes are where the app fails: three separate merchants report refused or indefinitely delayed compensation for parcels the carrier lost, broke or held, and no review in the corpus shows a money dispute ending in payout 0399 2970 2354
  • Phone access narrowed over time — a 2019 reviewer praised phone support, and in August 2025 the developer states the ticketing system limits phone contact by design 1853 8341

Trend

Volume is thin and flat: 8 reviews in the last 12 months against 11 the year before, 43 total over 83 months. What changed is the content of the complaints. The 2020-era gripes — international rates, hand-entering weights and dimensions on every order, manual order sync, missing Lettre Suivie, relay map stuck on the thank-you page — have not been raised by anyone since December 2020, with roughly 28 reviews since; treat them as fading, though no review confirms a fix. Every complaint since mid-2024 is commercial rather than technical: refused compensation (2970, June 2024), no goodwill gesture and no phone access (8341, Aug 2025), disputed weight surcharges (1696 Oct 2024; 0399 Jul 2026), and support going silent mid-dispute (0399). The plumbing appears to have settled; claims and billing are where recent unhappiness sits. Counterweight worth stating: a September 2025 reviewer of about two years specifically praises "la qualité de leurs enquêtes lors de litiges transport" (3091), so claims handling is mixed, not uniformly bad.
