PluginHive Australia Post Ship
A solid Australia Post-only rates-and-labels app whose reviews are overwhelmingly about the onboarding phone call, not about running it at volume — plan on a support session to get it configured, and don't expect it to be self-serve.
Should you install it?
If you are an Australian store on Australia Post and you want rates at checkout and labels printed without leaving Shopify, the reviews support this app doing that job, and the support behind it is unusually fast and human — phone and Zoom within minutes, named agents, out-of-hours responses. Budget for that call, because setup is repeatedly described as complex and very few reviewers appear to have configured it alone. The two real functional complaints on record (no MyPost Business support, Shopify order notes not printing on the label) were fixed in 2022 and 2021 respectively and nothing since contradicts that — though if delivery instructions matter to you, print a test label and confirm. The genuine caution is evidentiary rather than functional: 70% of these reviewers had the app under a month and many wrote during onboarding, so this page tells you almost nothing about error rates, edge cases or peak-season behaviour at volume, and there is no carrier here other than Australia Post. Watch the billing edge: one merchant was charged after uninstalling (refunded after five weeks), and one was advised by support to change Shopify plans and lost staff seats doing it, with no public reply from the developer.
Fair evidence. The corpus is large and consistent, and the long-tenure reviewers (about 4 years, 3 years, two at 2+ years, one at 1+ year) all confirm it keeps working. But 70% of reviewers used the app for under a month, many wrote from the onboarding call itself, and there is not one substantive critical review in 142 — so the sample is weighted toward first impressions and cannot support claims about reliability at volume, international edge cases, or what happens when something breaks six months in.
Right for
- Australian stores shipping domestically with an Australia Post MyPost Business account who want labels printed from the Shopify admin instead of a separate portal (2092, 4245, 6503)
- Merchants on an AusPost eParcel or business contract who need contract rates shown at checkout (4289, 3950, 3829)
- Non-technical owners who want someone to set it up with them on a Zoom or phone call rather than reading docs (7237, 7544, 2092)
- Stores leaving AMP / Australia Post by Addition over price increases or poor support (9259, 3950)
- Small senders who want a margin added on top of AusPost prices, or their own flat rates shown instead (4673, 4780, 9297)
Wrong for
- Anyone needing carriers other than Australia Post — no reviewer mentions shipping via any non-AusPost carrier through this app
- Stores fulfilling from marketplaces as well as Shopify — no reviewer mentions eBay, Amazon, Etsy or any other channel
- Merchants who want to install, configure and go live alone — setup is repeatedly described as needing a guided call (0803, 3950, 4252)
- Merchants who do not want an unsolicited phone call within minutes of installing (5657, 0458)
- High-volume operations wanting evidence of reliability at scale — the reviews contain no order counts, error rates or peak-season accounts
What will annoy you
Not self-serve: configuration is complex enough that most reviewers only succeeded with a guided call. Visible inside 5-star reviews, not filed as complaints.: 25 reviews, steady, last seen 2026-05.
How the developer behaves when it breaks
Two very different channels. Private support is fast and human — phone calls and Zooms within minutes, including 8:30pm on a Friday (9885), with named agents (Sibi, Priyanka, Manohar, Touseef, Sagar, Keerthi, Addina) recurring across years. Public replies to negatives are slow and mixed: 5584 got a reply two months later announcing MyPost Business had shipped; 5657 got a reply five weeks later with a billing timeline and a refund; 0458, the most recent complaint, got no reply at all. The 2021 order-notes gap in 9297 was fixed within hours of the review, per the reviewer's own update. Replies to positives became long and templated from about 2024, restating the merchant's account type and product niche — treat that detail as the vendor's words, not the reviewer's.

Red flags
- Unsolicited outbound phone calls minutes after install, with no opt-out offered. Most reviewers welcome it, but two objected and one of those is a 1-star. 5657 0458 8347 5469 3272
- Charged after uninstalling. The developer's public reply attributes it to a reinstall after the 15-day trial had already been consumed, and says a refund was processed. 5657
- Support recommended a Shopify plan change whose downgrade consequences were not explained; this is the only negative review with no developer reply at all. 0458
- Almost no independent evidence of behaviour after onboarding: 70% of reviewers had the app under a month, and several wrote at under two hours of use. 8347 4929 3557 5234 6357
Trend
Volume is up — 56 reviews in the last 12 months against 35 the year before, about 4.7/month, with zero negatives in that window. But information content has fallen. Recent entries are shorter, more often first-name praise for a support agent, and more clearly written from the onboarding call; the two richest reviews in the corpus (9297 on features and the order-notes gap, 3950 on migration and contract rules) are exceptions. The two early functional complaints — no MyPost Business in 2022, order notes not mapped in 2021 — were both fixed, and MyPost Business is now the most-named integration, so those failures are genuinely historical. What has not changed across seven years is that merchants get set up by a person, not by the app.
