Shipping app picker

Local delivery and pickup

AJ Delivery Date & Shipping

A flexible delivery-date and time-slot picker for florists, bakeries and food shops whose real product is a support team that will jump on a call and edit your theme — which is both why it works and how it broke for one merchant in 2026.

Should you install it?

This is a delivery-date and time-slot picker that works well for scheduled local delivery, store pickup and click-and-collect, and it handles awkward rules — per-product lead times, seasonal availability, drop-ship windows — that reviewers say other date apps could not (9172, 4625, 3485). Expect to get it working with the vendor on a call rather than alone: the strongest, most repeated theme across six years is fast hands-on support that will go into your theme and code the integration, and several reviewers only succeeded that way. The flip side is the main risk. Support-inserted theme code persisted after one merchant disabled the app in March 2026, forcing the calendar onto every product, and that same merchant then got no answer on email, chat or WhatsApp for 5 business days (4887); a 2025 reviewer reported the same unreachability (5317). Before installing, check three specifics the reviews flag: subscription products get no date picker (1458, promised on the roadmap in 2023 with no later confirmation), delivery fees are per order not per line (1458), and non-US stores may see US wording like "zip code" (5549). No review reports a billing surprise, lost data, or orders silently going out on the wrong date.

Thin evidence. Half the reviews come from stores under a month old, a large block were written after roughly an hour of use, and many read as solicited at the end of a Google Meet or WhatsApp setup session — two reviewers say they had not yet tested the customer experience. That means the corpus measures onboarding, not running the app through a peak season. Only 2 of 114 reviews are negative and only 11 reviews landed in the last 12 months, so failure modes are badly undersampled: the March 2026 theme-code incident is a single account with a developer reply disputing parts of it. The small multi-year cohort is reassuring on stability but is too small to generalise from.

Right for

  • Florists, bakeries, meal-prep and perishable-food shops doing scheduled local delivery (4885, 2376, 5920, 8609, 1458)
  • Shops offering store pickup or click-and-collect with date and time slots (8084, 3037)
  • Merchants who want a vendor to configure and code the integration for them on a screen-share rather than self-serving (7782, 4286, 4681, 9239)
  • Stores with awkward date rules — per-product lead times, seasonal availability, drop-ship windows — who will pay for or request customisation (3485, 9172, 4625, 0997)
  • Made-to-order and seasonal sellers who need a customer-chosen ship date rather than a delivery slot (0045, 0151, 1792)

Wrong for

  • Stores selling subscription products who need a date picker on subscription items — one reviewer says it does not work and no later review confirms a fix (1458)
  • Merchants who need a delivery fee charged per product/line rather than per order (1458)
  • Anyone who needs to install and configure it alone without support contact — several reviewers only got it working after a call, and configuration confuses people (2046, 7038, 0150, 9239)
  • Merchants who cannot tolerate a support gap during a peak trading period, since one 2026 reviewer waited 5 business days across three channels (4887, 5317)
  • Anyone needing carrier rates, label printing or tracking — no review mentions any of that

What will annoy you

Not self-serve: getting it installed and configured correctly usually needs a support call, and the admin interface confuses people at first: 12 reviews, steady, last seen 2026-04.

How the developer behaves when it breaks

Reply rate is low (20% overall) and most replies are near-identical boilerplate on 5-star reviews — "Hello Dear, Thanks for this wonderful review!" appears verbatim across 2821, 6513, 8814, 4692, 4580 and 8609, which tells you nothing. On negatives they replied to 1 of 2 in the last 13 months: 4887 got a detailed, non-defensive reply within 3 days offering to reconfigure the theme, and 1458 got a substantive reply that blamed Shopify platform limits for per-product delivery fees and put subscription date pickers on the roadmap. 5317 (1-star, Sep 2025) got no reply at all. No later review confirms either promised fix landed. Note one data artifact: the reply shown under 7515 is dated February 2022 against a January 2025 review date because the review was edited — draw nothing from it.

Red flags

  • Theme code inserted by support survived disabling the app: the calendar stayed forced onto all products after the merchant disabled it (March 2026). If you let them edit your theme, get a record of what they changed. 4887
  • Support unreachable across email, chat and WhatsApp for 5 business days in one 2026 case, and described as "Always not available / offline" in a 2025 case — both are the only substantive negatives in the last 13 months, and both are about the thing the app is most praised for. 4887 5317

Trend

Volume has dropped and gone quiet: 11 reviews in the last 12 months against 18 the year before, roughly one a month, on an app 6 years on the store. The praise themes have not changed — fast support, theme fixes, custom work — and the multi-year cohort still reports no operational problems (6695 Feb 2026, 6452 Jul 2026). What has changed is the shape of the complaints. The old gripes were functional (calendar not showing on all products, cut-off times ignored, 2665 in March 2022; cut-off config trouble again in 7617 Nov 2024, fixed on a call). Both substantive negatives since August 2025 are instead about support vanishing (5317 Sep 2025, 4887 Mar 2026), which matters more here than elsewhere because support is the app's main selling point. The 9.1% negative share for the last 12 months is one review out of 11 — too thin to read as a rate.
